Publié le 4 sept. 2024 sur HotelsThis is just our experience being kept outside the property and not being allowed to check in after paying for 2 nights with breakfast.
We got to the property after a long drive, rang the bell and told the person who opened the door that we are there to check in. At that point the owner didn't even said hi, he just said we cannot check in as we have a baby and rushed off to get his laptop to show us the policy.
When we asked what our options are he said you need to find different accommodation as we cannot stay there and that we need to speak with our travel agent if we want any refund. Didn't even offer us a seat and there was no willingness to help, keeping in ming my wife is pregnant and was holding our 1 year old, just closed the door and sent us on our way.
When I spoke with hotels.com they were really friendly and helpful and when they tried to ring the owner he refused to answer the phone as he had guests to check in (there were only 2 other guests that already checked in). When I said that I'm a guest who's trying to check-in and you're not helping he decided to answer the phone to the booking agent but was not helpful. I understand it was our fault for not checking the policy, but the attitude towards someone who paid for two nights at your property was really unacceptable. Once it was clear we couldn't stay there, we were disregarded and treated poorly. Of all this not only that he had no loss but also gained from us: no cleaning or breakfast to serve us.

Thank you for your booking and payment.That said, you comments could not have been further from the truth but do appreciate you may have needed to vent your frustration.We are always fair and will err on the side of our guests where reasonable.On this occasion you know what really happened so lets just visit the day again, our RING door facility has recorded the initial conversation which seems contrary to your interpretationYou booked for 2 adults not 2 adults and a child (I guess about 8 months)As we do not cater for young children/babies (which is clearly documented in the policy, which you later agreed you had seen), our liability insurance does not cover the business in the event of an accident to a minor under 12 years, we do not have cots/high chairs etc (nor did you and you further suggested you sleep with your baby in a small double bed worried us as it is a serious risk to your baby which we could not accept).I was empathetic with you as your wife will agree, I offered to suggest local hotels that take babies, I invited you into the property to discuss but your wife wanted to go and went to the car.You stated on a few occasions that you had no idea the business did not allow babies, it was only after you called your booking agent to discuss a refund, which I agreed I would do, that it came to light you were aware of the policy and chose to ignore and hope we would accept your situation.Sir, you were in blatant breach of the terms of your booking, you misled me, you got aggressive and wanted me to put our business at risk by ignoring liability insurance and a primary duty of care for all guests, including you and you baby.I had no option but to refuse your bookingI would urge you to always book for the correct number of guests despite age (this is mandatory in booking systems) and as a parent be very mindful of accommodation catering for small children to ensure their safety.Sorry this did not work out, I did try to help and offer a refund as your well knowLastly, casting an eye of numerous reviews, you will notice your interpretation of our service is not realistic but rather an attempt at venting your frustration and your unforced errors by taking it out on me, that's a shame, I am sure readers will see the reality here.....

I cannot say enough of our stay at Glyntwrog House. Sean and MaryAnn were just perfect hosts.
Our room was very clean, perfectly laid out and the bed was so comfortable. Sean was very knowledge of the area and nothing was too much to ask for.
We will return for more than one night!
