Nightmare

Everything was dirty in the Eagle nest room and the bathroom was felty and in top of that the hosstes didn't speak english. To be honest I don't know why they charge a cleaning fee. I make the reservation since July. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our wedding Anniversary we were very disappointed with our staying over there. If anyone goes to rent a cabin make sure that for real is a cabin and take your blankets and towels and shampoos and anything else you made need.( I can believe that they charge $1.00 dls for dirty towels).

Visiting the wolves

I stayed here while visiting the wolf sanctuary in Lucerne Valley, like that it is so much cooler in Big Bear. Cabin was cute and comfortable, wish it had been cooler time a year so I could have used the beautiful fireplace. Will love to stay there again on my next visit.

Our cabin was adorable and very close to the city. We went in Summer, and enjoyed the lake, but winter must be amazing as well. Super clean and the lady who welcomed us was very nice, although she did not speak English, she had a translator and we could communicate.

Outside appearance was ok. Windows, gutters and porches needed to be clean. Inside was a total 70 vibe, dark and bathroom needed to be remolded badly!

If you are easy going or have low expectations, this might be the place for you! This is not your average Expedia property- NO, this is a VRBO (owned by Expedia). 8 days before my trip, I tried to reach out to the property owner/host. I needed a rollaway bed or cot for my traveling partner. I tried FOUR different methods- I emailed, called, texted and messaged through the Expedia website. To this day, I still have yet to get a reply. I spoke with VRBO about my issues. They tried to contact the host and they could not either. They would not let me get a refund and I booked MONTHS in advance, so I could not get a solution from my credit card. So I was stuck with the reservation or I would lose my money. Instructions are vague at best. We arrived and found the main house, which no one was working at. I found rooms upstairs, but none were labeled "Gold Rush". So we wandered the property and eventually found some cabins. The Gold Rush was very small with only one queen sized bed. VERY soft and lumpy. We moved a parlor couch out of the way- I brought a blowup mattress and sleeping bag, because we didn't know what to expect. Everything is very old. The bathroom tiles have mold growing in between. I was afraid to use the shower, but had no choice. It felt dirty. I would NEVER in a million years recommend this place to anyone. It's cheap, but that's about it. Stay at one of the competitors- you will feel better about it.

The whole place was covered in ants the ants covered the bathroom the bathtub all over the sink all of our stuff. It was gross.

My hubby & I celebrated our anniversary and the location of the cabin was perfect for us. It was close to everything. We look forever to going back again and hoping to stay at this cabin as well.

Our hot water wasn’t working so we could not shower/take a bath. We reached out to the host who sent a woman to our room, but unfortunately couldn’t not speak English, which is not a problem, but it was very hard to communicate what we were trying to say. We were then told we can shower in a different room, and when I asked to live to that room they said “it wasn’t available”. I spoke to the host via text about a refund for the night and we would leave the next day and they stated a refund will be provided. Almost a month later I have not heard or seen anything from them. Please do not stay here.
