Rowan Cottage is the 1st cottage in a row of four in the tranquil village of Wanlockhead. Wanlockhead is a village in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, nestling in the Lowther Hills and 1 mile south of Leadhills at the head of the Mennock Pass, which forms part of the Southern Uplands. It is Scotland's highest village, at an elevation of around 1531ft, and can be accessed via the B797, which connects it to the A76 near Sanquhar and the A74(M) motorway at Abington.

The space
Inside the cottage there is a comfortable and cosy space which provides the ideal home away from home.
A living room with log burner, Smart TV and dining table is on the ground floor.
Within the kitchen, also on the ground floor, there is all you would need to prepare meals after a day’s exploring and enjoying your surroundings.
On the ground floor the bedroom sleeps two in a double room, the pine open plan staircase leads off the living room to the upstairs bedrooms, 1 double bedroom and 1 single bedroom .
The bathroom with walk-in jet shower is downstairs and the back door leads out onto outside area where you can sit and relax.
Off street parking is included. 2 car parking to the front of the cottage and parking to the rear which is suitable for motorcycles.

Other things to note
Pets allowed max 2 medium sized dogs (charge applies, payable direct. Guests must let us know on booking.) - No pets on the furniture or in bedrooms and on beds. All wet dogs must be thoroughly dried before entering the cottage.
Logs - Log nets are available to purchase at the cost of £7.50 per net. Advance notice required.
Please note that we have a travel cot but this must be requested at the time of booking.
We also have an indoor heated leisure pool recently opened in the village and is available for exclusive use hire for up to 8 people. Details can found at Lowther Leisure Facilities Wanlockhead
