Nice retreat in the Byron hinterland.
Publié le 2 août 2018 sur HotelsThe Summer Hills Retreat is exactly that. A beautiful property in the hinterland just outside the main town of Bangalow. We stayed in the Villa which is an upstairs self-catering apartment. The spa for 2 helped with a relaxing and quiet evening. Neighbours were noisy at times but that could not be helped. Walks around the property offer beautiful views across the valleys east and west. The pool and deck were inviting but too cold to use in Winter. Indulged in a massage, which was good but not an in-house masseur. The cabins looked like they would be worth paying a bit more than the villas as you have no neighbours and better views of the valley.

Hi Johanne, thank you for taking the time to write a review for us and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed the spa bath and views. The walks are indeed picturesque and the pool is lovely from around now (September).
Just to clarify, our massage and beauty therapists are indeed part of our in-house team and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your treatment - it is a great way to relax and unwind on a holiday.
Our cabins as well are of course bigger than our suites and also offer better views of the NightCap Range Mountains which offer a spectacular panorama in our location.

What a brilliant retreat - all class & all heart!

Pour : mountain views, very helpful staff, delightful room, own spa bath, close to town, great massages, generous breakfast basket, birds singing, the pool
Contre : Nothing - wish we had stayed for 3 weeks!
Emplacement : Bangalow restaurants are excellent as are the cafes in Federal. The Byron Bay Lighthouse was also a highlight as well as the Crystal Castle close by.
We found this retreat to be very quiet and clean and close to the village of Bangalow which was very handy as we were visiting family in the area. Our Palm View room was delightfully setup with tropical views and a very comfortable big bed. Our room was made up every day which we appreciated and our own spa bath in our room was a soothing treat. What we loved the most about staying at Summer Hills Retreat was the walking trails in the mornings which we thoroughly enjoyed being in nature. And also being able to have a refreshing saltwater swim in the estate's pool in the afternoons which I might add that this pool sports stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges - this is a very beautiful, very lush and very green location. We opted for the breakfast basket during our stay and also the couples side by side massages and both options were great. As far as serenity goes, this place ticks all the boxes and we felt completely rejuvenated in only a few days. The staff were very sincere and couldn't be more helpful, booking us restaurant reservations, taxis and in letting us know all there was to see and do in the area. The manager made us feel very welcome on our own personal tour of the estate. This retreat is genuinely all class and all heart and we can't wait to get back there for a much longer stay - we are already planning our return trip to Australia and Summerhills will be our main stop next time. Highly recommend this retreat to anyone that wants to deeply relax.

Summerhills Retreat Byron Bay

Pour : It was very quiet and secluded. No traffic or night life to contend with.
Contre : Nothing that I can think of.
Emplacement : It was great to get out of the hustle ad bustle of the city and go for peaceful walks on the grounds and we ate locally which was great.
We had a wonderful time at the Summerhills Retreat. The grounds and facilities were great. Francesca was very welcoming and genuinely cared about our experience. We had a very relaxing and stressful stay and will be back again.
