The floor I was on was going through renovations. You could smell the paint and wood. The ice machine was completely surrounded by supplies. There was a roach in the RR. Just one that I saw, but 1 too many. They did not offer a decrease in rate and withheld $100 for incidentals. smh

Did not tell us about the building construction. Started off the day with the fire alarm going off at 5 in the morning. Followed by all day hammering starting around 8 am. We always stayed here when visting Birmingham, but will give someone else a try next time.

Top notch cleanliness! The people we encountered at check in and checkout were warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was yummy and continually replinished. Lots of nice shopping in the vicinity too.

Nice property and great staff. We stayed in 401, king size bed. We had some minor issues. The shower pressure is not the best, and the hot and cold are opposite side. The safe in the room battery was dead so could not use (the people that could fix it left at 4:00pm). The landline in the room did not work (they are switching there landlines over to a new system and that is why the phone was not working). The TV guide does not work for the TV. Now the good stuff: Staff are amazing polite and takes the time to interact with you. You don't feel like a number checking in. Not sure what there is to do in the town. We were going for a 3 day haunt tour but it was cancelled 😞

Assuming only makes a out of you!
I booked this stay for a class reunion. Upon showering and literally stepping out of the shower the smoke alarm started im assuming from the steam. Went out for food and came back someone from the front desk was at the door stating she was checking from the alarm incuthat happened hours prior, then waling up to attempt charge of 250. 00 and when I asked the front desk why she stated that one of the employees smelled smoke! I don’t smoke never have and being employed with the government I wouldn’t! There was/is no evidence of smoking anywhere so being falsely accused all because of their alarm being faulty because of my steam shower and me liking my room temperature 69 and below they ASSUMED I smoked. I won’t ever book with this hotel ever again!
