Great stay in an awesome house!!!

The house is amazing!!! Emmitt was prompt on an issue we had upon arrival and all was fantastic!

Terrible experience! Would never rent again from this company.

We were told three days before arriving that the pool was working. When we arrived we saw that the pool was drained and the lining was sagging all over. There were trash bags all around the pool and it looked like it had never been in commission. There was no hand towels, trash bags, paper towels, hand soap, and dish soap. Two of the beds did not have blankets and there were no extra blankets in any of the rooms/closets. Management did not provide any of the missing items until the following day around 12pm and they still forgot trash bags. The trash outside was so full and had bags surrounding it so we could not dispose of our trash properly. The communication between the rental agency and management was terrible. I spent the whole weekend conversing back and forth just to get the basic necessities provided. It was for my baby shower and I was 36 weeks pregnant so I was very upset with how things were handled. The doors to the bedrooms did not shut and the whole house was humid and felt like there was mold everywhere. We would wake up with sore throats because of how humid the house was. I would never stay at the patriot family rental homes ever again. 0-10!

Good House for our Family Get-Together

We needed a place for our family get-together after we found the property that we had rented through another company to be unsafe. We were able to find this property and complete the reservation process quickly enough to get into the house the next day. It took a bit of follow up to get the address, check-in instructions, etc., but that could have been due to the extremely short notice. The property met our needs well. There are bedrooms on multiple levels of the house, so it was good to allow us to spread out a bit. The house was good, but with a little work, it could be really good. The house needs some repairs (toilet seat in one of the bathrooms, some paint/wall damage here and there, etc.). The weather was great for the weekend that we were in Birmingham, so we would have liked to use the outdoor amenities more. The pool had been closed for the season (understandable), but there were also a lot of leaves on the decks and stairs. Some of the boards on the decks and stairs should be replaced.

Great for large groups

This house was really good for our family visit to Birmingham. The only suggestion I would recommend would be that this house is suited for older children. Small children would be hard with so many outdoor balconies and stairs.

Horrible

(-5 ☆) I would definitely NOT recommend this place. From the moment of our arrival it was a mess. If there was a zero rating this place would receive it. There was poop on the cabinet in one of the bathrooms. Animal urine on the walls and baseboard in one of rhe hallways. The porches and decks are run down. Plumbing in one bathroom would not drain. No extra essentials at all, and no cleaning supplies. While showering, the tub would not drain the water out. Management didnt respond promply. When Management finally responded, we was informed: "i will let our TEAM know". The TEAM never responded or showed up. When going to bed we found blood on the comforter and no extra comforters to even try to change it. We booked for 3 nights. Only stayed the first night.. and left early the next moring our entire family exhausted. This was the WORST stay we have ever incountered through VRBO. PLEASE PLEASE DO YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY THE FAVOR..... DON'T STAY HERE..

An overall disappointment

Our family had looked forward to visiting Birmingham Alabama and originally very excited about the stay. However, upon arrival we quickly noticed how hot the home was and that the pool was not only nonfunctional but an eyesore as well. It was filled with toads and debris. The owners were very misleading and promising that someone would come out to fix it. Well someone came out on our last full day(on that Sunday) in the rain to fix it. We checked out on that Monday & the HVAC person was arriving. That did us absolutely no good as majority of our guests had to departure early because they were so uncomfortable. The owners are misleading and this is false advertisement as the pool is being advertised on this website as a functional pool. This is a disgrace and unfair to the renters. I wouldn’t recommend this property to NOBODY.

Hi Sharbie! We are sorry to hear about your experience in our home. At that point, we had difficulty finding someone to maintain the pool, but we have worked since then and have weekly maintenance set up. This should not be an issue for future guests. We are sorry about the air conditioning not working properly. We worked as quickly as possible to find someone that would service the property. Once again, we apologize that your stay did not meet our five star standard.

Birthday Bama Buddies Golf Trip

For an area that had a tornado just days before our check in, I was very surprised at how well the property looked. There were some sticks in the yard, and the decks needed to be swept, but those were taken care of the next day. Seeing the destruction a street or two over, we were very lucky to be able to stay on the property. We had two very minor issues... 1. The Adirondack chairs on the back porch were broken and the wifi hooked up to the television, but not our phones. That being said, we were on a golf trip, so we did not care. We were from Indiana, NC, and Florida, and hadn't seen each other in a while, so we spent most of the time on the back porch, catching up, and not messing with our phones. Could not rate any local restaurants because one of the guys is a professional cook, and he made all of our meals. He stated the kitchen was well stocked with all he needed and made wonderful meals. The golf courses we played were Robert Trent Jones Courses. Two, Ross Bridge and Oxmoor Valley, 30 minutes from the house. They were terrific courses and very challenging. We did travel to just North of Montgomery, to play the RTJ Judge course, but only got 3 holes in and were rainy out. The three holes we saw were incredible. The next time we do this type of thing, I would definitely play all the courses closer to the home, for there is no reason to travel far, to get terrific RTJ golf courses. I cannot rate this property high enough and cannot wait to do it again for the next Buddies Birthday Bash!!!
