Beautiful and magical
Publié le 27 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe lodge was perfect. Spotlessly clean and pretty and everything you could need. However what made our holiday absolutely perfect was the garden the lodge is set in. Stunningly beautiful, magical grounds that you could see from all sides of the lodge. With a folly perfect for an outdoor fire and BBQ. Central to all of the North East and Durham attractions. I have been twice now and can’t wait to go again. Magical!

It was a pleasure hosting Amanda and her family at our holiday home. They were excellent guests - respectful, tidy, and easy to communicate with throughout their stay. We appreciated how well they took care of the property. We are really looking forward to welcoming them back for another visit in the future. Highly recommended guests!

Magical days in lovely Gardenside Lodge

The hosts Glad and Kenny are indescribably great people, so friendly, so accommodating and helpful.
The Lodge is beautifully illustrated by the pictures. The garden is a very special treasure, but the living area is also superbe and very cozy. The other rooms are small and functional, but all thoughtfully furnished.
The location is convenient: trips to Durham, the Lake District, the North Yorkshire Moors, Rielvaux Abbey, Scarborough and Whitby are all within easy reach. Edinborough was too far for us.
We'll probably have to come back for that...

Magical Christmas get away

Perfect short stay
Publié le 20 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe stayed with our 6 year old when going to Kynren and so glad we did. This is truly a hidden gem. We had such a relaxing stay and loved exploring the peaceful, beautiful garden. Our hosts, Glad and Kenny were friendly, helpful and we have reccomended to many of our friends and family to go and experience this little slice of heaven.

Lovely Lodge
Publié le 1 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayFantastic lodge, very clean, well equipped and the kids loved playing in the garden. We were made to feel very welcome. This is a great location for visiting the surrounding area including Durham, Barnard castle, Bishop Auckland, High Force, Kynren etc. Hope to visit again in the near future.

Perfect holiday lodge

Magical setting

and friendly hosts and Johnny Depp looking after the grass cutting!
We had an assortment of weather but only minor problems, a few drips from the conservatory roof in the noisy downpour and it got a bit warm in the hot sunshine - but thats because we couldnt leave the door open as our 2 dogs would have found a way into the fields.
A truly magical garden with follies and lovely nooks and crannies. Bird feeders next to the conservatory kept us entertained.
Just 1 suggestion would be a little gate to secure the rear patio area - for those people who have dogs like ours!
We really enjoyed our stay and may return next year to see the bell tower!

We have had a glazier look at the roof to try and find the spot where the few drops of rain came in, unfortunately he couldn't see anything at the time but we will monitor it to resolve the issue.
The suggestion for a gate at the rear patio area is a nice idea but unfortunately we are unable to do this as it is a fire escape route.

It was a pleasure to have this lovely, friendly, couple stay with us for a few days. Communication was excellent, as was the following of the house rules.
The lodge was left in beautiful condition.
We wouldn't hesitate in recommending these visitors and hope to have them visit us again in the future.
