It was a delight to host Trudy, her friends, and family, including Sister, her sweet fur-baby pup. Our little chats on the phone and on the front porch was a lot of fun! This very personable 5-Star group took excellent care of the property and they are always welcome back!

Special Stay at The Red Cottage!
Publié le 8 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis is the most comfortable and well stocked vacation home we've stayed in! It's cozy and much thought went into details that made us feel special. The home is one level which was handy and the covered front porch was a great place to relax. We esp liked that the yard was fenced since we took our dog. We're looking forward to going back! A big thank you to Monica and John!

Fun getaway

The Red Cottage is perfectly located for a walk into town, a walk to the pool or lake or a quick drive to Asheville and beautiful local hikes. The property was very clean, the front porch was delightful, beds were comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped. Would highly recommend this wonderful property.

We had an exceptional experience hosting Amy and her family, 2 furbabies included! Amy was very personable and candid during our interactions. This 5-Star group took excellent care of The Red Cottage. These incredible pet-parents went above & beyond with our checkout procedures by sweeping the floors and starting a load of laundry! We highly recommend Amy and her family to any vacation rental property Host. Without doubt, you will not be disappointed!

It was great to host the Hogans; and their fur-babies, Shaggy and Scooby! Karen was very personable and candid in her emails. The photo exchange to showed off their Siberian brothers and our Bengal siblings was a treat. This 5-Star family took excellent care of The Red Cottage and they are welcome back at any time.

Hosting Jake and his friends was was a pleasure. We had the rare opportunity to meet them when they checked in and they were very polite and cordial. They took excellent care of the property during their early 4th of July weekend. We highly recommend this group of young men to any vacation rental host -you will not be disappointed.

Reluctant to Leave!

There was every single comfort possible in this adorable, accessible, beautifully decorated, lovingly shared home. Every possible need was covered, down to the “Oh I forgot to bring a…OH there is one here!” All went well and the front porch with rockers capped off the quaint enjoyment of the Red Cottage. Monica and John communicated with me at every turn and gave perfect instructions. An added bonus was meeting a very sweet neighbor who made us feel right welcome!

We were thrilled to host Pastor Goodman and his guests during their stay at The Red Cottage! Very personable and generous in their compliments about the property. It's a wonderful feeling to know when our guests notice the hard work and details that we put into keeping our vacation rental a success and consistently maintaining our status as "Premier Hosts" since 2014.
Thank you for mentioning our incredible neighbor Brian. He's lived here all his life, knows everything Black Mountain and we also consider him a "bonus".

Perfect spot for our visit

We do not alway get the opportunity to meet & greet our guests and were glad to get the chance with Melville, her sister and their daughters. All were very personable, had a great time, and took excellent care of the property. We hope to have them back again and highly recommend this 5-Star family to any vacation rental host.

Great Location
Publié le 12 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cottage had everything you could need. The kitchen was very well stocked, the beds were very comfortable, the porch was wonderful. We would recommend this spot and stay again if passing through. Lake Tomahawk and Montreat are both less than 2 miles (in different directions) and great places to walk.

It was a pleasure to host Keith and Laraine for their week-long vacation in Black Mountain. We do our best to make each reservation special and were happy to bring them a loaf of our homemade sourdough bread. Laraine was so sweet and asked if she could have some of our sourdough starter mix! We rarely get the opportunity to greet our guests and meeting Laraine and Keith was a delight! We hope to see them again and again.

Lovely stay in our favorite place
Publié le 27 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayWe are frequent guests to Black Mountain and the Red Cottage is a great find! John and Monica have been doing this for 15 years and it shows - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more well-appointed and labeled stay. Everything was clean and comfy and we loved our stay.

True as advertised
Publié le 27 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayWe left the frozen North, in mid January, to make Red Cottage our home for 61 days exactly, Check in process was seamless. There was everything in the cottage, that we needed for a long stay. there was even dog treats for our small Bichon Poodle. Yard has some fall leaves, that our pet did not like, mentioned that to Monica, and she sent a contractor who cleaned up in o time. Small boutiques , in black mountains are nice place to shop and near by cafes are nice touch. Over all it was an excellent getaway for us to beat the winter Blahs.

We love hosting our guests and it's an exceptional experience when we have travelers from outside of the US! Having the opportunity to meet with our new Canadian friends was an added bonus. Malcolm, Darlene, and their sweet furbaby, Bailey, were very personable and took full advantage of their 61-day visit to WNC. We love their stories of hopping in their vehicle and venturing to nearby towns and larger cities. The property was spotless when they checked out and we feel very fortunate they chose The Red Cottage as their home base. This 5-star family is welcome back whenever they feel the need to "beat the winter Blahs" or even to visit during our spectacular spring, summer, or fall seasons!
