Publié le 17 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe were 2 families - 4 adults and 7 teenagers. There are 5 queen size beds with 3 closed door bedrooms, 1 open bedroom in the basement and 1 other open bedroom - we were lucky the kids didn't need much privacy in the open bedrooms but something to consider if your group needs privacy.
It was the best equipped VRBO that I have been in - kitchen, towels, bedding.
Views are stunning, you are seconds from the water with a dock and whips. The yard is large with lots of room - Tim is very accommodating and even let us park a 5th Wheel in the yard.
Things to Consider:
1.It's not a full time VRBO, this is Tim's house. In the summer months he lives across the street. This allows him to be extremely responsive to any issues (which he is!!) yet you will see him around. He even had coffee on the dock one morning we were there. So if you want a totally absentee owner - you won't get that.
2. There are only 2 bathrooms - it could use another bathroom as one bathroom is an ensuite off the bedroom.
3. The A/C does not work awesome. It works - but could be better.
3. The dock is shared with Tim. The boat parking right next to FINZ made us nervous as people tying up at FINZ aren't careful and we saw numerous boats come loose and hit other boats. They didn't hit us but there is a potential it could. Tim could consider giving the other side of the dock to guests.
Overall, great stay but we felt it was a bit overpriced for some of the issues we had.

Great location and spot for the whole family to enjoy!
Publié le 25 juill. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe loved our vacation at this property, the dock made it easy to load our boat each day and when we weren't on the water, the kids swam off the dock. The water was clear and not super deep which was nice for the younger kids to play in. The deck and fire pit was great for the adults to relax after a full day on the water. There was also lots of room inside for everyone. Would highly recommend this location - also can't beat the views from the deck!

Overstated.
Publié le 15 août 2021 sur HomeAwayGreat location but the house and beach equipment are dated and in need of repair. The lake while beautiful is not a good swimming lake due to the level of weeds. When travelling with kids and looking to enjoy a beach, we should have been made aware of the weed issue. The ad for this property is over stated and the property overpriced.

With respect to the beach equipment. I have recently purchased two new Stand Up Paddle Boards to the list and will be removing the 4 seat pontoon paddle boat, just to many moving parts. Things to break down or go missing to use a public piece of equipment. I am in search now for a couple of the sit on top kayaks and replacing the older ones I have now. The weeds where bad this summer as it seems the weed harvester came latter in the season to harvest the Malaysian Milfoil weeds. I think the fires had a lot to do with that. I do find most of the travelers tend to head out in their boats and swim around copper island and spend the day exploring. Also I would like to let you know that the new Kitchen Aid Appliances did not arrive to replace the existing appliances. Covid has delayed the delivery of those.

Publié le 25 juill. 2021 sur HomeAwayGood property overall. Spacious house with ac and lots of amenities and in a good location. Only downside was the water has lots of weeds so swimming off the dock not really an option. Would rent again with my family.

Thank You so much for your review Ryan. Sorry for the weed issue this year. I think with the plus 100 degree temps and the delay of the weed harvester, because of the smoke the weeds where especialy bad this summer.

Great location! Needs some TLC.

Tim was very communicative.
The outside equipment (kayaks, seating areas etc) are tired and in need of TLC. Paddle missing on kayak, rudder on 4 man pontoon boat broken, etc). Seating areas are in need of cleaning and some upgrade.
Main problem for us was the basement of the house had standing water in it and was not usable even though it is advertised as a bedroom area. (not disclosed before we arrived). Alternative area provided as a bedroom was open to basement, damp and smelled of mildew. Problematic for anyone sensitive to mildew.
Bed linens and bathrooms were very clean and well stocked which was appreciated. Kitchen was well stocked but equipment including BBQ wasn't clean. We had to clean all pots and pans & utensils prior to using. (could have been a problem with the prior renter?)
Stove doesn't really work well- may need repair.
Again, location is great. Just needs some maintenance, updating, and deeper cleaning.

Thank You Bobbi D for your constructive comments. With respect to the water issues in the basement. Being so close to the lake the high water does force clean ground water into the basement via cracks in the foundation. The water has always dissapated by the first week of July as the lake water level goes down. The summer of 2020 we had some significant rain which kepted the lake levels high. This is why the extra beds where moved into the lower TV room, ground level with the patio door entrance. We have never had the issue before so we hope we wont see these significant rain levels for a while.
generally we get very positive comments about the cleanliness of the house, kitchen and have a reliable turn around team.
With Covid my new Kitchen Aid Appliances did not arrive so so I apologise for the performance of the stove. These are being replaced as we speak.
I have replaced the TV with a large 80" model. We will continue to replace bedding and mattress as we move along. This winter the bedroom carpets will be replaced with alternated flooring.

Fantastic Location, Rough Around the Edges

On the downside, the cabin could use a good cleaning especially the floors and carpets, and some organizing particularly in the kitchen. In particular, the kitchen needs a decent vegetable peeler and can opener, a cheese grater (or bring your own). It is definitely a 3 bedroom, the basement bedroom in the pictures is flooded and would be a concern. Tim did set up another bed in a different room which would be okay for kids. On the upside, it's a perfect location with some fun water toys to use, lots of outdoor space to sit with sun and shade. Tim is living right behind the cabin and would be responsive if you had concerns.

Thank you Cindy for your comments. I had the cleaning team. Organize the kitchen better for the travelers needs. The carpets where professionally cleaned on this last turn around. This was a particularly challenging spring, normally the water has receded by July 1 but this year it was over 2 weeks late. Thank you for your constructive comments, it was a little tougher start up this year with the high water.
