Bucket List Gem: Perfect Cabin Getaway Near IU
Publié le 3 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe joined friends for an IU tailgate and football game over Labor Day weekend and found this gem of a cabin. Staying in a cabin in the woods was on my bucket list this year, and this place exceeded all expectations. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer! The property is exceptional—beautifully decorated and incredibly welcoming. The fire pit area, hiking trail to the lookout point, and dual porches are fabulous spots to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything needed to cook, which I definitely plan to do next time. I can’t wait to return in the fall for a full week when the leaves are changing. We will be back!

Deceptive photos and description
Publié le 27 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThe hot water ran out after about 6 inches of bath water.
The bathtub was cracked in every corner and had holes that were previously patched with a drywall type filler.
The sewage from the sinks and bath ran down the hill towards the pull in gravel drive way and smelled horrible.
The first pit had 7 inches of old wet wood and debris inside making it impossible to start a fire
The selection of the bottle(s) of wine in description was just the one, $6.99 bottle of Olivers Sweet Red.
The water in the bath tub when ran was yellow.
The dishwasher appears that it had someone run the same color of paint on the kitchen cabinets in the dishwasher, rendering it unuasable.
Their were large dead centipedes and spiders when entering and a smell of a fresh bug spray or bug bomb being let off.
We were left 1 1/4 roll of toilet paper for 1 adult, 1 9 yr old child for entire stay.
The washer / dryer namebrand Haier washed but did not dry
There were architecural issues throughout to include the cracking of the ceiling at the top of the spiral staircase and when the washer ran, lots of cracking.
The refigerator did not stay cold even whem on the highest setting.
Someone had broken into this cabin before bc there were obvious signs to include a cracked front door frame.
On both nights I stayed there was a large truck that came peeling fast down the drive way with music loud and they turned aroud leaving new mud tracks each night.

Beautiful Property and Hospitality
Publié le 13 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cabin and property are beautiful here, and the hospitality is wonderful. It’s a great, natural escape near Bloomington. There are some small minor maintenance issues that haven’t been addressed: a pocket door missing a fixture required to keep it on its track, two small, inhabited wasp nests on the inside of the partial screen by the bedroom window. We hope these are addressed soon to get this cabin back to its near perfect standard from the last time we stayed here. Overall, they didn’t detract from our stay and the local wine and outdoor spaces made for a wonderful, cozy weekend.

Wonderful experience
Publié le 29 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy friend and I loved it here. It was quiet, clean, beds were comfortable and towels very soft. It was well decorated and just perfect for a girls weekend. We will be back I'm sure. This was the first time I have ever used Vrbo and I'm so glad I did!

Really great property
Publié le 6 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayFeels pretty secluded despite its location, and is really well furnished. Our 3-year old needed some supervision on the spiral stairs, but the layout worked well for our family and the property (fire pit area and short trail along the ravine with platform above the creek) is really nice.

Perfect family getaway!
Publié le 31 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayMy family absolutely loved our long weekend stay at The Edge! The property was quiet and beautiful - we especially loved the fire pit area and the small deck overlooking the stream at the end of the trail. We even spotted a few white tail deer drinking at the stream one morning. The house was also lovely and had everything we needed. It was so cozy and peaceful - we didn’t want to leave! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Worth Every Penny
Publié le 19 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property was hospitable, clean, and well worth the stay with all the necessary amenities. Local stores were not unreasonably far, however the property well far away enough from the hustle and bustle of a city environment. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy time away from home, but definitely worth every moment.

Beautiful and Secluded
Publié le 7 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe loved this A frame retreat. It’s located perfectly to be close enough to town, but far away from it all to make it feel like being in the country side. We stayed during the winter, but definitely want to book again in the Fall.
