Publié le 10 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at “The Getaway!” It was so quiet, tucked away (but within a short drive to town), and clean here. The house was spotless upon arrival so there was no need to contact and property managers. The pool table and amenities were a hit for us!
The hot tub worked just fine, and we soaked in it each night. The master bed was extremely comfortable.
The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, plates, etc. we were so gray. We will certainly stay here again!
There were 4 adults total on this trip, but I could easily see this place being “family friendly.” There were plenty of board games, and it was a safe home. Everything was labeled for ease, with notes and instructions. It still felt so homey, but it was functional for first time guests. The washer and dryer worked great too, water pressure was great, showers were lovely.
*I would like to note you may need awd or 4wd to stay here. We had big trucks and it’s a fairly steep driveway. We did have to use 4wd*
We recommend visiting the nearby waterfalls (within an hour) and fishing in the public creeks. We caught trout and some bass. It was much fun!

Perfect cozy convenient cabin with bonuses!
Publié le 7 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cabin was so cozy but also extra so spacious compared to others with two extra large bathrooms. The mountain roads leading to it were extremely easy and gentle, even partially paved. Extra amenities like the lovely pool table and ping pong and hot tub had us even enjoying the rainy days we had. The owner was very communicative and helpful prior to our arrival and everything went better than we could have hoped for. We hope to stay here again on a return trip in the future!

Great Mountain, “Getaway”

Beautiful pool table, as well as air hockey, ping pong, board games, corn hole. Great jacuzzi on the deck! Close to many awesome attractions- highly recommend Lake Blue Ridge and rafting on the Ocoee!! Host Greg is super helpful too

Peace and Quiet

Perfect getaway!

We enjoyed starting our day out on the porch and that’s how we would end our day. Loved listening to the birds and seeing all the wildlife. All-in-all The Getaway met our expectations and more and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Just what the doctor ordered!
Publié le 1 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayHaving lost my sister, mom, and dad in less than two years' time, I was in desperate need of tranquility, so we booked this cabin for the week following my dad's memorial, and it delivered!
The drive here was easy, so close to town. We stocked up on groceries and hunkered down. The first night we spent in the ground-floor master bedroom, but that bed didn’t agree with our backs so we moved to the bedroom upstairs, closer to the pool table 😉.
The cabin is spacious and comfortable, the plumbing works great, and the kitchen has everything we needed and then some. Add Netflix and a great sound system, who could ask for more? That said, we spent a lot of time on the shaded, breezy, screened porch, listening to the birds.
Hated to leave, and we want to return! Thank you!!!
