Perfect for a large family getaway!
Publié le 12 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe views were breathtaking and we enjoyed many meals together watching the sunset over the Pacific. Our large family spent a lovely week over Thanksgiving at this beautiful home. It is clearly well maintained, and the one issue we had with some non-working lights was quickly remedied by email (it just needed a breaker flip and Jan was super responsive!). To make it 100% perfect, our wish list would be: 1) more seating in the main living area (although the space is limited) and 2) a baby gate (we had a toddler who wanted desperately to traverse the stairs) - we tried to find a pressure gate at Target but didn't have much luck over the holidays). Our family definitely enjoyed spacious kitchen, the extra space downstairs (a few of us had to do some remote work), and the teen boys loved the media room hideout. We hope to return again -- thank you for sharing your home Jan!

Wonderful stay
Publié le 8 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband’s large family spent the weekend with us at this home. Our ages ranged from 2-70 and we all were comfortably accommodated. The views are great from nearly every room and there’s tons to do in and out of the house.

Lovely home with a beautiful view.
Publié le 29 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe bedrooms were all large with comfortable king size beds. The hostess even provided two roll away beds for our teenagers. The air hockey and pool table were particularly appreciated. many matches went on between all the family. The hot tub had a great view of the Milky Way and we searched for falling stars and the comet.
Every one had a fun time at this amazing home. ❤️

Great property for a group
Publié le 18 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe spend a lot of time in bodega bay. This time though it was for my Sons wedding and we had a lot of family join us. Great size house for a large group. Hot tub and games room a big hit. Kitchen and dinning room met our needs. Great rental

So convenient to access beach, trails, and dining. We're already talking about renting the same home and the hostess couldn't have been more helpful and responsive. Great Time in Bodega
Publié le 8 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful time in Bodega Bay at Jan’s lovely home. There was plenty of room for the family and the views were spectacular. We saw deer roaming around, bunnies hopping around, and even saw a grazing skunk (we didn’t venture too close, haha). Listening to the seals and seagulls was such a treat! Jan was so gracious in letting us have an earlier check-in and a later checkout. It would have been helpful to have a list of necessary items for our visit, such as extra paper towels, ground coffee for the Mr. Coffee machine (filters provided), laundry detergent (we were not able to locate any), and basic condiments. Previous renters will leave certain things behind but it is not a guarantee. There is a big folder of the rules and regulations to follow as well as helpful information on nearby sightseeing, restaurants, etc. The big book also includes many do’s and do nots regarding appliances, hot tub, barbecue, thermostats, etc. There are additional costs for too many day visitors, rollaway use, hot tub usage,etc. Upon departure, it is necessary to follow a list of chores regarding putting all clean dishwasher items away, rules on towel, sheets, and garbage. Despite all the rules, we had a great time in this beautiful home. Just be prepared to allow time to read all the information and allow time for departure chores.

Return visit for group of long-term friends

Fabulous Stay!

Impressive location and great property for large groups
Publié le 3 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were a group of 12 (six couples). My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary. It was a great location very close to the beach, and a well designed home that allowed for gathering in groups while still having privacy for each couple. Jan was a good host, offering a lot of information in advance.
There are a lot of instructions for everything, including specific and detailed check-out instructions. I think the other reviewers are correct in saying that the instructions help keep the place in good shape, but that some of them are very excessive. One needs to budget more time for check in and check out than one normally would. We spent about 90 minutes preparing for check out and that didn’t include dishwasher time that needed to be finished and emptied before leaving.
That said, Jan was able to provide an early check in and check out. She was very clear on all rules and requirements, and we had no issues with any of the amenities.
We would consider visiting again given how many boxes the property checked for us.

The information for our home lists all the info that our guests may need. Some guests like details and some don’t. Since I work with a wide population, I share all in the info list.
Since our home is nearly 4,000 sf with six bedrooms and five bathrooms, it may seem like a lot to do to prepare for departure. Although, I actually ask for less than many vaca rentals, such as I don’t ask my guests to strip the beds, etc. upon departure, but since the house is big it may seem like more.
