The accommodation was immaculately clean. Checkin was smooth and friendly, the concierge who took our bags to our room was knowledgeable and helpful. We were in two minds about eating in the restaurant but were very pleased we did the food was delicious don’t be put off by other negative reviews. All in all we had a great room and lovely food with impeccable service. They are all really pleasant and helpful. We did the tour and that was fun too. We will not hesitate to stay again.

A unique stay

Food was great!
I would absolutely recommend and return however was very miffed at being charged a £9 service charge for being brought an iron to use!
Second minor jiggle was having no mirror by the dressing table.

Really great place to stay
Publié le 15 août 2024 sur HotelsWe stayed as a stop over after visiting the Eden project. We were really impressed by the building, service and setting.
The rooms were really well presented and had all the luxuries you could ask for.
The restaurant was excellent quality again helped by the really exceptional service.
We look forward to returning.

A very unique hotel. The family cell is (and I think that they are all like this) three original cells knocked into one.
Bathroom was lovely and spacious, only downer was that there was a long hair in the shower and in the bath. The bath only ran at two temps too; very hot or boiling, so we had to let that cool down significantly before we could use it. The “well stocked” mini bar consisted of two bottles of water; still and sparkling and two bottles of milk, very disappointing, there is more in a budget-chain hotel fridge. And the safe was already locked so we couldn’t use that.
Any staff that we bumped into whilst at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful if we needed anything.
Very quiet hotel lobby, never been in such a quiet hotel reception and it does have a wow factor as you go in.
We had a delicious breakfast in the hotel but ate out in the village of St Kew for our dinner. The Champagne Bar was quiet when we were there (mid-week), but the cocktails were great and nice soft drinks for our under 18’s.
All in all a lovely place to stay and enjoy some history. We did the self-guided museum tour after breakfast as we didn’t want to get our children frightened before bedtime. That was a very interesting and cool tour, I’d recommend that as part of your stay too.
If you are looking for something unusual and a bit of luxury to go with it, then this is your hotel.

Everything was excellent, apart from I believe under staffed, as we had to abort sweet etc, after waiting 40 mins after main course, to even see if we would like a sweet.very disappointing, but everything else was totally excellent.
