Very beautiful place. Bar closes early and they mean it! Would be nice to be able to buy snacks and have a nightcap after a wedding which ended by 9.

My stay was on a Friday while there was a show at the Playhouse. Parking for the motel was a challenge as a result. The grounds are beautiful, be prepared for some hills to climb. I would encourage visitors to enjoy an Allenberry sticky bun. Dining that's available on location is a dress up affair and reservations are recommended. But I found fast food and other dining options with 15 minutes. I met a charming couple from Michigan who shared photos of their family and gave me a lot of local history. To summarize: beautiful ambiance in a motel dated circa 1790. Warm and friendly staff and a chance to engage in wonderful conversations.
PS. Actor John Travolta got his debut at the Allenberry Playhouse! How cool is that!
