Not as described, did not complete our stay!

We called the host via contact details on the itinerary and app. She advised us she has nothing to do with the property since moving on earlier this year?
We found the key in the front door.
We then tried to contact Ross “the current owner” about the no bedding however no response.
We then contacted the same lady who is listed as the “host” as we couldn’t find a contact detail for Vrbo.
Listed is a few issues as to why we did not complete our stay and found alternative accommodation;
TERMITES PRESENT
Two crusty towels. (For 3 guest 1 child)
Lights need replacing
No Bedding (few static blankets and crusty sheets in the cupboard)
Key not in described location
Poor to no Communication
Trail of blood?
No wifi (as listed)
No phone reception
Ross eventually called us back later the next day but it was a chase of phone tag.
We are now in the long process of a refund with the help of vrbo.

Great little country escape

Mixed feelings
Publié le 30 août 2023 sur HomeAwayIt’s in a lovely spot but sadly the general air is one of neglect and abandonment.
We were grateful for the abundant firewood to keep the kitchen toasty but less happy with the multitude rodent baits scattered about the place. That said, the mouse-nibbled soap was not attractive, so while I understand the need for pest control there’s probably a safer way to manage the poisons.
Future guests will benefit if the present saucepans are replaced (well-worn “non-stick” coatings are not safe to cook in) as well as the mattress I “slept” on, which seemed to be composed only of tangled wires.
It might also be a good idea to conduct paddock spraying on days when guests are not in residence. Many folk (myself included) are uncomfortable about inhaling unknown vapours.
On the bright side the night skies were exquisite.

Perfect base for the mid north

Great family weekend getaway, old style farm house with character. Clean, comfortable.

The old farm building of a time gone by, must have been a hive of activity back in it’s hay day. Limited phone coverage but not an issue, good to get away from the hustle and bustle. Recommend it , it’s not the flashiest, but it was basic and very cool. We as a family had a great time together. It’s retro. A time capsule. Clean tidy and value for money,
An old school adventure , we would book this accommodation again no issues

Country getaway
Publié le 15 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayGreat farmhouse in a peaceful location. It was a 20min drive to Melrose and the Flinders Ranges. The house was clean and had lots of room for family and friends. I would recommend staying here.

Really wonderful place and perfect especially for spring weather
Publié le 11 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayLoved it . Bird watching heaven right at the farmhouse . Lots to do nearby . Mountain bike heaven …. Hike Alligator Gorge and Explore Melrose . Plus much more .
Just needed better directions to find the property . (Take a right on White cliffs road in Booleroo Centre then follow the supplied directions to find Knaurhouse Road).
Oh… and def visit the Brewery & coffee shop in Melrose .
