Cozy Getaway

This house reminded me of my grandmother's -- but in a great way. It was just far enough out of town where we had peace and quiet in the wood but near enough to everything to where it wasn't a drive. I do wish the electronics in the building were a little more updated. The TV's were a little tough to navigate as they were quite dated with not nearly enough bandwidth on the internet for streaming services. I'm happy either way.

Dusty and Moldy, great location , good for young adults possibly.

The pictures are accurate as far as decoration… but not accurate as far as the cleanliness it’s hard to explain, but the bottom half is mostly clean, and there is just a lot of dust along the upper edges of the home and surfaces and for someone like me with allergies it was really hard to breathe. We thought we could spend some time outside on the back deck, but the patio furniture was left Filthy, and I did not want to clean that. There was black mold on cabinets and shower liner and mouse droppings in the cabinets and around the laundry area.

The guest never complained about any of this and had my personal cell phone # to call me if she needed a thing or anything was wrong!

Uninhabitable Health Hazard

Our experience with this property was a nightmare. After being in the house for about an hour, my husband was having a hard time breathing. We looked around, and there was mold everywhere—on the headboard, walls, and ceiling, and most disgustingly, there was black mold in the ice maker. We looked for a hotel and checked out. Here are the details. We checked in and were rushing to meet our family for dinner, so we unpacked the car and left. We returned from dinner, put our leftovers in the fridge, and then got ready for bed. My husband started feeling sick, and it was hard for him to breathe, so we turned on the AC in the room with the double beds and turned down the sheet to lie down. The sheets were disgusting, had hair and dirt, and the AC unit smelled terrible. We then decided to try the other room. We pulled down the sheets, and there was also hair on the sheets, and we noticed mold on the headboard/wall. We then inspected the house and found mold all over. It was disgusting. We messaged the host that we were leaving, checked into a hotel, and sent the pictures we took to VRBO. They gave us a full refund. The next day, the property manager took zero accountability, as you can see in her responses to reviews, and accused us of checking out the next day, not at midnight. I told them we have a hotel receipt and dashcam footage to prove our timeline and that their response was unprofessional. If this were a property manager for a house I rented, I would be appalled.

Yes Becky knows that I am he manager, in charge of everything running smoothly for this comfy little cabin in the mountains.This guest called me at 7:00 p.m to get directions as it was pouring rain and she was having trouble finding it. Becky had my personal cell phone so she could reach me at any time between 7:00 and 1:00 p.m. when she said she checked out because the cabin did not have air conditioning and her husband has asthma and could not breathe. Our advertisement for our cabin clearly states that we do not have air conditioning that there is only one small window AC unit in the large bedroom. At no time did I receive a phone call or a text from this guest that there was any problems, whatsoever the next day I received a text from her that they had checked out in the middle of the night and had difficulty finding a hotel when there is a hotel right at the base of the road leading to our cabin that she would have no problem checking into it is called the greystone Lodge. I simply stated that the property was not appropriate for her making a reservation as she knew ahead of time that we did not have air conditioning and that her husband had asthma and would not be able to tolerate a non-air conditioned environment, even in the mountains where it is cooler and a lot less humid. I am sorry for the inconvenience this guest brought upon herself by not booking a more appropriate place for she and her husband to stay. We respond immediately to all phone calls/texts.Lee
