Great studio with everything we need

Publié le 21 janv. 2024 sur HomeAway
My husband and I stayed in Kay's studio for 4 nights in January. It was convenient to town and to the orienteering events we attended near the Slot canyon in the park. The studio was clean and had everything we needed and Kay was the perfect host. Her two dogs were friendly and fun.

Working in the desert

Publié le 14 juin 2023 sur HomeAway
A project in the Anza-Borrego desert meant I had to find a place of rest where I could cook and not worry about security. After the flower tourists left I found this place and couldn’t be happier with it.

Peaceful, Beautiful Getaway

Publié le 14 avr. 2023 sur HomeAway
My partner and I had a wonderful time at Kay's casita! It's the perfect size for two people with a great kitchen and many cooking supplies so you don't need to eat out. The bed was so, so comfortable. The bathroom was great and had a beautifully tiled shower. We really enjoyed having dinner on the patio with all of the lights off and enjoying the dark sky. It was a wonderful break from everyday life. Kay's dogs were very welcoming and we fed the horse and donkey many carrots. This might be my favorite rental experience ever. We will definitely be back!

Cute Little Casita

Publié le 12 avr. 2022 sur HomeAway
A perfect little place just far enough out of town to be absolutely quiet. but close enough to Borrego Springs to really enjoy it. Great spot from which to explore the desert. Extremely clean and well maintained. Tiny deduction due to the recent removal of the mature trees mentioned in the description. But new ones in the ground and should be even better.

The casita on the ranch

Publié le 10 nov. 2021 sur HomeAway
The rental was clean, cosy and had a well stocked kitchen. AC worked great and the views from the ranch were incredible! We were also able to bring our small with us. We also enjoyed visiting the horse and mule. Great stay!

The casita was clean, comfortable and quiet. All the cooking utensils I needed were present. The water was good and there was plenty of hot water when I needed it.

Broken Brain in Busted Borrego Springs Bungalow

Publié le 12 oct. 2021 sur HomeAway
If I were to relate this rental experience to a film, I feel my journey would best corolate to the 2015 film THE VISIT, for the visit to Kay’s “ranch” made me run home and hug my mom for days after I kissed the ground of my entire apartment. What appears as a relaxing and welcoming invitation soon takes a turn for the dangerous and the hostess is quick to exhibit unprofessional and uncomfortable behavior. Overall, Kay was a great exhibit of what happens when one does not take their medication or mental health seriously, for her texts and conversations soon turned violent, dismissive, and demanding. She became far too comfortable around us, and was improper with my male guest. We decided to leave early after Kay informed us on a Saturday evening during a heatwave, as we were arriving with groceries ready to cook dinner, that power was completely gone. We also had no air conditioning, water, internet, or phone service. She had no generator or back up electricity. Kay only offered me an ice pack and four water bottles for 2 adults and 2 dogs. I am disabled and my health took a turn for the worst due to the lack of safe and proper accomodations. I became sick and had to resort to using towels and sheets to clean my mess since Kay did not provide us with soap or water. Kay was insidious and accused me of playing the “disability card.” Kay even texted me that her job was more important than my health and continued to turn the water and power on and off after I called VRBO and asked about leaving early. At the end we left running and screaming like the survivors at the end of a horror movie. We left traumatized but thankful to be alive, and vowing never to return.

Incredible tale of fiction. Bottom line, weather related 2 hour power outage sent my guest into a panic and I graciously agreed to give them a refund since they felt they needed to leave. However, I wasn’t prepared for the mental twists and turns that my guests displayed, the thievery of multiple items from my rental, or the threats of physical violence. I had to call the sheriff’s department and a deputy came out and took a report. I would hope VRBO would put this individual on a do not rent to list.
