Hello Terry,We regret that you left chateau de Bouillancourt after only a few minutes. We had informed you before your arrival of the specificities of our castle. We claim the sobriety of our energy consumption in a world in full ecological upheaval. Indeed (and as we indicate to all our customers when they make a reservation): the rooms are heated by a wood stove and you have mobile LED lighting or candles in the rooms to light you up. It is a societal choice. In this former 13th century fortress, remodeled in the 18th and then in the 19th century, we offer a unique experience where the magic of history is revealed in a unique experience that delights the vast majority of our customers. A unique dive into our history which is combined with the environmental issues of our time. The large green living room and the dining room, located on the ground floor, are accessible to everyone to charge their phones and read by the fire. Sorry to see that this experience did not meet your expectations. I am convinced that many international hotel chains will be able to answer them.Best regardsVincent et Fabienne

Wonderful experience in a beautiful chateau that has lived through many centuries and whose history reflects it. I stayed just one night in the B&B on a long drive back to my home and loved my stay. The owners are lovely people who recently bought the property and are working to restore it to its original beauty. The castle has kept all the furniture and art from the previous century so you really feel like you are going back in time. They have added bathrooms in each of the bedrooms which historically had none. In true old chateau form there is no electricity at night in the upper floors, the owner provides you with a little lamp for your evening which really makes the experience unique. The owners also went above and beyond, giving me a tour of the beautiful property and describing the history of the different rooms and grounds. Overall highly recommended!!
