We were unable to securely lock the main door to our cabin we relied on the screen door being locked. This was reported to to administration not long after arriving and was the same when we left. The exhaust fan was filthy. Lino on the floor was moving and could be a trip hazard. Compared to other places we stayed during our holiday this cabin was very poor and I would be reluctant to recommend

Location was great and close to everything in Kalgoorlie. A little bit loud at night due to being close to the main road but overall a wonderful stay.

Be aware this property allows smoking around the pool area. There was cigarette smoke blowing over the pool every time we went to use it, which ensured the pool wasn’t child or non-smoker friendly. Same with sitting on cabin deck. Smoking and non-smoking sections of the park would at least allow non-smokers to enjoy the deck of their cabin. We witnessed police attending by the property gates. We received daily text reminders to lock up cabin, valuables and vehicles. Didn’t feel like a safe area.

Good Afternoon Jo,Thanks so much for your feedback.We are sorry you have this experience at our park. smoking is not allowed in our pool area and signage is in place, whilst every effort is taken to ensure guests adhere to this, some guests have obviously not abided by the rules. As we cannot watch the pool area at all times due to other work requirements, we rely on customer feedback such as yours to address these problems. I ask that in future if you stay with us or any other discovery park that if this happens again that you please inform reception staff immediately at the time of incidence to be able to ensure your ability to use the facilities in a smoke free environment. whilst all cabins are smoke free inside, We cannot police people smoking outside of them. Since we have had our Security gates in place the incidents within the park have dropped by 80 percent but we do have a duty of care to send out daily adhoc saftey reminders for when reception or management feel the need.
