Waterloo Guest House is located in the sleepy town of Black River, on the southern coast of Jamaica. It is the first place in Jamaica to have electricity. It is a family-owned business and it is very special to the owner. Her father, Dr. Ferdinand Stewart, bought the property for his wife, Mrs Lynette Stewart, who was a school teacher. She started a school there for all the children in the community. Her children, five of them lived upstairs. They also attended the school for awhile. After many years Mrs Stewart migrated to the a United States along with Carolyn her daughter. After many years, Carolyn moved back to Jamaica and opened Waterloo as a restaurant, bar and guest house. She eventually added a two story 16 bedroom guest house on the property along with a pool. The property is close to stores, attractions and public transportation. It’s cozy and the staff will make your staff memorable.
