Hi there, Thank you for your the 4 stars on the cleanliness and sharing that our cottage is a great property! We do love it here! We are saddened, however, that you felt the need to give us a terrible rating on everything else, when we tried to work with you and accommodate you even though you broke our house rules, twice. We even tried to work with you through VRBO customer service, however you continued to ignore our messages and break our house rules and VRBO guest rules. We pride ourselves on offering a safe space to everyone who stays at the cottage. Our outdoor security cameras are there exactly for instances like yours - disobeying house rules, dishonesty and ignored communications. Our 2 security cameras are only pointed at the parking lot and not anywhere private. Our doorbell camera is pointed at the front road, never indoors. Our add allows small private events, with authorized people and prior consent (up to 4 people), which you did not do on both Saturday and Sunday, with 3 additional people in addition to your verified guests. We were advised by VRBO to evict you immediately on Saturday everning, which we decided not to do, as we tried very hard to work with your requests. We were never advised that your car was broken; we would have been happy to work with you resolve that issue! Finally on Sunday, after you again invited an unauthorized guest, we were within our rights to ask your guest to leave. As it was near check out time, you were leaving anyway, so we did not "kick you out" as you mentioned. As for parking - there is plenty of room in the laneway to park up to as many cars as we allow guests (4), however your unauthorized guest still chose to park on the grass, where it was clearly indicated as not part of the large parking lot. We pride ourselves on keeping a safe and family fun cottage that our neighbors and municipality supports. We are fully licensed and insured, so when our guests do not follow our rules, we do try and work with them to resolve the situation. This does not make us paranoid but actually makes us good neighbors and good hosts! We hope this experience taught you that every short term rental has rules to protect yourself, ourselves and the neighborhood. We have definitely learned from this experience and hope you did as well. Take care!
