Thanksgiving Get Away
Publié le 6 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe have been staying at the Great Escape every other year for three Thanksgivings. Fantastic place for extended family to gather for a holiday and family time. Plenty of space for cooking all the family favorites. Pete and Teresa are great hosts. Highly recommend.

Publié le 22 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwaySpent 4 nights with adult children and 5 grandsons aged 2 and under. Plenty of space for all. Of course had to keep close eye on grandsons when close to water, but great floats, pedal boat, kayaks, canoe. Built a fire most nights. Good time together.

Wonderful

The house is beautiful, very well maintained, and stocked with every item that you could need. The layout of the kitchen/dining area/den is perfect. I especially loved the screen porch with the nearby bird feeders.
The whole family loved being in the water, and reading/sunning on the dock.
Thank you for allowing us to share your wonderful home.

Beautiful Property

The owners are quick to reply and answer any and all questions. Check in is easy and the amenities are outstanding down to the spices in the kitchen.

Annual Lake Vacation!

The hosts are responsive to any questions, comments, or thoughts about the stay. The hosts have listened to their renters and implemented many of the great suggestions to make everyone's stay better. We have been staying at this property for close to 10 years! There are 4 families and the 5th family is one of the kids who has grown up coming on the lake vacation! Thanks so much for sharing your lake home with us!

Great Family Gathering

Really enjoyed the location for watersports, super-convenient, and loved that we could sit on the point and watch the action from land too!! Lake Gaston has become a family favorite.

Wonderful week at Great Escape!
Publié le 10 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cove was great for swimming & the upper story dock for jumping in, SUPs, kayaks & paddle boat were enjoyed by all. Such an expansive property with amazing views! The house and yard are wonderful; the photos don’t do this place justice! Our family of 10 (8 adults and 2 children) had ample room, the bedroom and bathroom layout made it easy for each family group to have their own space. And the kitchen, den and porch were wonderful gathering spaces. We loved being on the peninsula with a great shoreline & view of the lake. And as a bonus, there was much to explore in the yard; the grounds are landscaped with gorgeous flowers, bushes and trees and there is also a vegetable garden. We would definitely come back!

We Found Paradise
Publié le 17 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis gem of a property is surrounded by water on three sides with breathtaking views! The grounds are landscaped with gorgeous flowers and flowering bushes. The house is equally stunning and well equipped beyond the description on the VRBO sight. The owners are super friendly and quick to respond. I inquired if the kitchen had a pizza stone - it did not, but they purchased one and it was there for us!! Best vacation ever! We will definitely return to the Great Escape!!
