Room 14 was in urgent need of updating. Carpets very old and marked, windows filthy and frames were rotten.
Breakfast good and bed good

The hotel is down a very narrow road and satnav actually tried to direct me into a private residence entrance before reaching the hotel. Take care leaving or joining the main road the line of sight both ways is dangerously restricted.
The staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming and sullen, giving the impression that they did not enjoy their jobs.
I had booked a double room, which turned out to be a very small room, with a double bed pushed up against the wall on one side. The shower was so cramped I had to open the door to be able to spread my arms out to dry myself.
The body wash tubes provided in the shower room were empty.
Breakfast was not worth £13. The waitress was surly, it felt like she was doing me a huge favour taking my order and resented even being there. I got no response to my polite greeting. The tables were not preset, despite the fact that I had booked and paid for the meal the night before. So the waitress clattered and dumped items on the table setting it in front of me.
I asked for some fruit and was given 3 thinly sliced strawberries arranged on a plate. I could not eat the scrambled egg it tasted like flour had been added and was not cooked properly. I enjoyed the toast which was nice and hot!
Conclusion: I will not stay there again.

Thank you Sharon. We are very sorry that we did not live up to your expectations.As you correctly identify, you did indeed book a small double room. The rooms on our site are all labelled extra small double, small double, standard double, large double, junior suite, suite, log cabin. Unfortunately as you booked a small double online, we do need to assume that you specifically chose the room type based on size and price. The smallest of our rooms being the cheapest. If you wanted a larger room, the clue is simply in the name and guides you to make the correct booking.Breakfast for 13 consists of juice, tea or coffee, cereal, toast, a cooked Full English if you would like it, or Pancakes, or Eggs on Toast, and the option of a fruit platter, where you have a selection of fruits and never just one type of fruit. All of this includes VAT at 20% and is freshly cooked and served to you. We can name a number of chains that would charge you a significant sum greater for a sandwich and a coffee and without the service.Thank you for your feedback and we of course always undertake to take comments and feedback seriously.

Customer should not be able to write a review, as they booked the wrong room, they booked a log cabin double but wanted a twin, so wanted to pay cheaper price when the twin was more. Expected us to change the room to a twin and not charge more. Customer did not stay left that evening, did not tell us, just left the key in the room. From fire perspective this is not on. Therefore should be allowed to write a review. Because they booked a wrong room and expected a cheaper price. Please check your customer service notes

Property had no character or charm, breakfast was very low quality and the staff said two words to us and were not friendly or helpful at all. Would never recommend this place to anyone
