You get what you pay for
Publié le 27 janv. 2019 sur HotelsStayed three nights. Wifi never even once worked during our stay. The staff was polite but nothing really worked like it should and even ordering a couple of beers was sometimes too much to get right the first time. Luckily there is a great restaurant adjacent, Ann & Mike that has great food and excellent staff. Anyone staying at pierhouse I would recommend outsourcing all your dining and drinking needs to Ann & Mike, even the prices were considerable lower there.

Wow!!!! Nice advertising of the neighbor., they probably paid your food and drinks too. Well abused of the opportunity to use other establishements page to advertise. You should stayed there and get your money refunded from Expedia. Who ever anonymous you are. I do not accept this from Expedia to accept and published such anonymous reviews.

Perfect!
Publié le 21 mai 2018 sur HotelsIt was a wonderful stay at Elisabeth‘s and Mike‘s lodge. We had the most beautiful sunsets with excellent cold beer and the company of the owner who will tell you the best stories and gives you the best tipps where to go. There are two diving schools, one is right beside in the neighborhood. At this time there was a problem with the water but we never ran out of water to shower so we didn’t mind!

Great views - peace and quiet
Publié le 21 janv. 2018 sur HotelsThe Pierhouse is in a remote area so if you are looking for lots of shops and bars it's not for you, but there is a dive school. The views from the balcony & terrace are beautiful. The kitchen serves good food which you can eat whilst watching life on the water or the fantastic sunset. There is no beach by the property but you can access wonderful remote beaches by getting a boat from the pier just a few steps away and the owners have a private beach you can stay at overnight for an extra cost. The owners were so helpful arranging day trips and transport for me. I will certainly go back!

Thank you for staying with us. We never haved TV in our rooms and probably will never be. We have the west sunset sea view of the horizon served to you. Yes we are 40kms. outside the busy town of Coron. We do not have noisy tricycle around us, and we are very delighted to be far from everything you think we should be near of.

Disappointing accommodation
Publié le 3 janv. 2018 sur Expedia
Pour : Nothing
Contre : Cleanliness and service
Emplacement : The hotel is close to islands for island-hopping.
We (4 pax) booked 2 deluxe rooms for 2 nights but were not accommodated on the first night because the resort had overbooked. We were only offered a room fit for a prisoner on solitary confinement and we refused it. We transferred to a nearby resort which offered its only room available that night and we crammed ourselves in that room just to rest for the night. On our second day, there was only 1 deluxe room offered to us.

Location is remote with poor infrastructure
Publié le 5 mai 2014 sur HotelsAll day crowing from roosters kept by neighbours. Food portions are small. No credit card facility on-site; have to pay $70 to travel to Coron town and $70 back to get cash. No jeepneys or taxis in village. Transport is on scooters. Lots of insects in room. But beautiful sunset.

Needs to advertise re: hidden costs
Publié le 8 janv. 2014 sur Expedia
Pour : The food and local staff. Location was v beautiful if hard to get to.
Contre : More work on the accommodation - putting in windows. More advertisement re: hidden costs
Emplacement : Go to an island and go snorkelling - the best thing to do is use it as your base to take day boat trips.
There should be more description of the hardcore 1.5 hours it takes to get there via dirt road. Accommodation was poor - leaking toilet and no windows which isn't good when there are barking dogs and roosters behind your room. Food was great and staff very friendly but there are hidden costs which should be advertised more. Not too bad but there is room for improvement compared to other places we stayed in the Philippines for the same price - i.e. El Nido.

Nice staff, beautiful sea view
Publié le 27 déc. 2013 sur HotelsAll of the hotel staffs are friendly. Food is international and actually good. We went 1 months after the strong typhoon Yolanda, therefore many hardware of the hotel are broken. We didn't have water in our room, and electricity is not stable. It's a great place for young people to experience the nature. Beautiful sea view right in front of window. But for those travelers looking for comfortable holiday, Pier house might be too aboriginal for you- no hot water, no proper shower, no proper window to keep mosquito away...etc. On the contrary, if you are a backpacker, you would love this place for its kindness and beauty.

Pour : The staff - friendly and helpful, it was more like being a house guest than being in a hotel. And the sunsets across the bay, awesome
Contre : Again, it would be unfair to comment on this.
Emplacement : I was there for the scuba diving, but there are plenty of other options for the non-divers, including beach and island hopping and kayaking.
It would be unfair to rate the this hotel on things like condition or comfort, seeing as how I arrived just days after one of the most powerful typhoons on record had ripped across the island. There was no running water, power was from a generator for just a few hours a day, and the damage caused by Yolanda was still being repaired - but I still had a great time there, and I would be more than happy to go back.
