Lamentablemente sufrimos un robo de dinero durante nuestra estancia y el personal del hotel no fue para apoyarnos, tuvimos que llamar a la policía y hacer todo el tramite por nuestra cuenta y al final no nos regresaron el dinero, ni nos dieron una solución.

We booked using reviews on hotels.com as a bit of a guide and I definitely wouldn’t rate a 9/10. I’d give it a 6/10. Staff was friendly, banana bread was delicious, and the view was beautiful. Upon our arrival, there was a hair wad in the toilet, sheets felt like paper, beds were uncomfortable, and there was no heat/ac or even a fan in the rooms. Road to the property was terrible, but we knew that ahead of time. Just a meh stay.

Hello Breanne,We are really sorprised about this comment; from our side we were always ready to assit you during your stay, even at the check out time, we were super worried about taking care of you before to go without breakfast, so, we prepared some breakfas boxes for you to dont leave the hotel without it. On that moment I personally ask you if everything was all right so far, but, you didnt mencioned any of these concerns to us, we never heard from you about any of these comments during your stay at Burbi Lake Lodge, if you will let us know about the situations we will gladdly assit you to take care about it. Rooms, have a heater inside and at the check in time we explained you where is it also with the extra blankets, we have no A/C at the room becuase of the cold and fresh wetaher we do have at this area, our geographic location offer to customers a real cloud forest experience, even thoug, if you will ask us about a fan or something like that, we will do our best at the front desk to find a solution for your confort.We did our best to offer you a nice stay at the hotel until the last day.Greetings, Carlos

I will give 10/10 to the cloud forest experience at Burbi Lake Lodge but other aspects around property were fairly average or below average. 1. As soon as we checked-in, i was asked to pay an additional $50 x 3 nights for my 15 year old son. Even though I had mentioned this during the reservation process with Expedia. Apparently the property owner has this discretion since accommodation is based on 2 adults. This is fine print info which expedia and the property owner will not disclose or cover in the rate displayed on the website. So just beware for last minute surprise. 2. The property is basic with no TV or coffee machine in the room. Even the quality of rooms are not plush enough to charge almost $300 per night 3. If you like to walk and hike in the neighboring country roads, again beware of stray dogs. They literally come from no where so just be watchful of small kids who may like to play around the property. 4. The roads immediately outside the property were terrible up to 10-15 miles in either direction. Navigating a foot deep potholes could slow you down to 5 miles in 30-40 mins. Therefore the downtown Monteverde will not be as close as it seems. 5. The property has a common area which serves breakfast and coffee ONLY. There is no functional restaurant here. please please do brush up your spanish because the staff does not speak any english at all (expect for the guy who is at the reception). In short better to stay in Monteverde closer to downtown!!

Hello Manav, we appreciate your stay at our property but not everything you say in this comment makes sense to us,1- Burbi Lake Lodge as a Hotel offers a real cloud forest experience which is the main reason for coming to Monteverde from anywhere in the world, so any other concerns that people external to the experience have and that are not related to the The experience that Burbi Lake lodge offers and that Monteverde offers as a cloud forest destination has no reason to exist.In most hotel in the world the prices are always reflected in the stay in double occupancy, that is, two people "that is normal" and any additional person to the reservation must pay an extra regardless of the reservation channel, which is not normal as in Your case is to say that you come with a child less than a year old and then arrive with a child who is 15 years old. That seems strange to us, even more strange that you might be surprised why you should pay the additional fee because of course one-year-old children do not pay, children over 15 years old do pay because in any hotel they will be considered adults.2-That's right, our Hotel does not have a TV with the sole purpose that in a society so consumed by technology, people who stay at Burbi Lake Lodge have the opportunity to connect and let themselves be carried away by the nature that surrounds us and its environment without disturbances. (we have WIFI in the rooms for obvious communication reasons) our common area offers coffee, tea and hot chocolate to all our visitors with banana cake, which everyone generally appreciates since this amenity is always available,Our hotel does its business in a transparent and honest way and you can see the photos as well as a clear description of what our rooms have and do not have, so we always consider it very important that whoever visits us knows what is going to be offered and We believe that before paying or reserving a place our clients will do this analysis to be able to understand whether or not they want to stay with us, the price that you are placing in this comment is not acceptable or correct and is false because even charging you the extra you paid little more of 200 a night, remember that the hotel pays taxes on all its payments and if we see our net without taxes that would be. Additionally, this platform gave you a discount..3- On our property there are no dogs and in this area there are no street dogs, if you had any inconvenience you should have reported it to the reception so that we can take care of it and tell the owner or the police about the situation so that it could be resolved effectively.4 - Costa Rica has a very slow development in some rural areas, being a third world country in which, like many countries, political issues related to corruption and poor management of resources have led the country to not have all its streets paved, this is not just a fact about Monteverde, and to the taste of people who are used to 1st world roads this

This is place to be in if you are a nature lover. This place is so serene and peaceful. The staff especially, Emel and Carlos took care of us so dearly. We felt as if we are home and they really took care of whatever we need. However, you need all wheel drive to get to Monteverde and also to this Hotel. That was the only hiccup we had. Once we reached there, it was very fabulous experiece.
