The Harborside is a fine spot. It's a bit tired, but it's good value for the money. The AC works very well, so important in this part of the world. The pool is weak, but the place is really best as a one night crash pad. They will try to upsell you on check in, so be ready for that. The front desk staff has an odd air of superiority and importance for the most part. The Duty Manager, I forget his name, was particularly self important. Funny really, I think he instills that in others, because his sole purpose is to check you in, give you a key, and answer a question or 2. Quite entertaining in a weird British sort of way.

Wonderful overnight stay

The smell when we walked into reception from outside was amazing. Beautiful flowers on reception desk. The whole hotel had a lovely welcoming aroma. Really large bedroom, very quiet, thought we would be disturbed by plane noise as we were in the flightpath but nothing overnight or early morning to disturb us. The reception staff were really nice & welcoming. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if visiting Cairns in the future. Breakfast buffet, everything you could wish for.
