Excellent Escape
Publié le 28 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayIn one beautiful fall October weekend, we saw incredible sunsets over Lake Superior, a double rainbow, and the Northern Lights. The home was so comfortable and the check in and check out processes were well communicated. We made some amazing family memories. Highly recommend.

My First Stay at Storybook Cottage
Publié le 5 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayI have been looking at Storybook Cottage for years and finally found a time we could go. It was everything I had hoped for. The cottage was quaint and perfect for our style of living. And being so close to the Big Lake was a bonus. We will definitely stay again.

Needs some TLC
Publié le 2 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayWe still hadn’t received check-in instructions by check-in time, and had to contact VRBO. It was easy to get in once we knew how. The house needs some serious TLC. For example, the bathroom door does not close. It was clean though. The listing led me to believe the cabin was right on the water - it is not. You have to walk down the block. The area is quiet and seemed safe. However, the rest of Calumet is run down and dumpy. We will never go back. Overall, the cabin is overpriced for what it is. Also, I’ve never ever seen check-out instructions request that you sweep the floors before leaving ~ that was absurd.

HA! You are absurd and dumpy and are most definitely not welcome back! Your review is lie after lie… you thanked me for the directions when you reached out the day of arrival instead of looking in your vrbo welcome guide that has all of the check-in information and I happily responded immediately with that information you then thanked me for. So why did you need to contact vrbo?? You should read the entire listing and transaction you executed when you booked. My listing expressly states it is lake view with beach access a hundred feet away from the front door. To say you walked a block is so laughable for anyone who knows my location. Get a Walmart scooter. Lastly, who are you to demean a small rural community that is a top Michigan destination. Your arrogance mixed with your cheapness is very telling of who you are and I feel bad for anyone who has to put up with you in the future. My rate is cheaper than a motel room in town with a view of Burger King parking lot, no comparison at all but my rate is very competitive. Not to mention my staff that cleaned after you and baked you fresh bread with a hand written welcome note, flowers, and on and on and on… This guest is clearly a very inexperienced traveler as it is very common to have a check-out list when departing a short term rental. Mine simply asks that you sweep any excessive sand or pet hair. Oh my, how absurd!!

Beautiful sinsets!
Publié le 1 nov. 2022 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I spent 3 nights at the cottage and had a great time. Good location for exploring the keewenaw peninsula. Nice fire pit by the cottage and the sunsets on the beach were fabulous. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
