Our stay here seemed fine at first and the decor is lovely however, it stated that there were only two steps into the front door and being that I was traveling with my disabled mother, this was vital information. However, we get there, and the front steps are two huge steps with zero railing. My mom struggled every day to get in and out and it was a hassle to bring her walker in and out too. We also let the host know that there would be three of us staying, but when we arrived, the sofa bed was unmade and we had trouble finding pillows and sheets to set it up. It was very uncomfortable and wound up being a futon rather than a sofa bed as advertised. As for the bigger concern, there was a strange smell around the apartment sometimes. We thought it was due to the pipes overflowing when we used the washer. The sinks would overflow and it smelled horrid. We alerted the host who said someone would come check it out, however, they did not come for days. Even worse, when we used the bathroom, within a few minutes of using the shower, both my mother and I would experience awful asthma attacks/coughing fits. We both have asthma and severe mold allergies, so we were confused and concerned. It wasn’t until our last night there that we realized that there was BLACK MOLD in the apartment! My newborn niece who visited got a cold and my mother got BRONCHITIS and was in the hospital due to this.
