Overwhelming
Publié le 4 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayOur stay was very relaxing. The house and the pool were nicer than we expected. We would come back immediately. The landlords were super nice and uncomplicated. Thanks again!

Authentic, well restored villa with plenty of character
Publié le 4 juill. 2016 sur HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful 15th Century Villa in Northern Tuscany. The outdoor pool was well used in the daytime and the open fire was lovely to sit around and chat in the evenings. The Villa was well furnished, with areas to congregate as a large group of 13 (in the dining room and around the pool on loungers) as well as plenty of alternative spaces including 2 balconies and seating areas indoors for smaller groupings and/or a bit of quiet time. The style is rustic and characterful and this building is very old so the sound does 'travel'; it's perfect if you're looking for a lovely authentic villa vacation in beautiful rural surroundings, however it's not the option to go for if five star luxury furnishings and 'mod cons' are your thing.
The location is also worth noting - this is a perfect location for people who want to get away from tourist traps and experience the stunning natural beauty of the Tuscan Mountains and small local villages but it is fairly remote so be aware that you will need a car and a confident driver as the road in is very windy, with a few steep drops. It's not suitable for less able travellers as the car park is about 100m below the house and it's a very steep walk. The views are totally worth it though. The owner was very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Thank you for your very positive review of Villa Torricella. This is very helpful for future travellers and we always appreciate feedback.
We are delighted that you enjoyed the villa so much and we agree that it is full of character and beautifully spacious for a large family or group of friends.
The detail you provide about location and house layout is particularly helpful and you are right to point out that the views are lovely.
Please note that we offer a returners discount on any of our 'Friends of Tuscany' properties, so if you (or friends that you recommend) want to return to us, just mention your name and the villa you stayed in before booking, so we can offer a discount.

Absolute tranquility in an amazing propery
Publié le 25 mai 2016 sur HomeAwayWe loved the place - the décor is fantastic and the there was every thing we needed. The owners were great and very helpful.
I would really recommend the villa. There were 8 of us and the whole experience was just brilliant. Can't wait to go again.
The only negatives I have are the lack of parking and a bit of a steep hill from the public car park and secondly the price of electricity at €4 a unit (versus our home one of about 50c a unit) it was a hefty bill at the end of the week (€340).

Thank's for the great review. It's a newly restored house in the first year of renting and we absolutely love the villa. It's a great blend of the old antique house with its grand fireplaces, and tasteful and interesting features.
Just one point...all the electricity and gas used for hot water is included in the rental, and it's only the gas central heating which if required during colder periods is measured and paid directly to the owner. The rate is 4 euro per unit of 4 litres of propane gas, expensive in Italy and usually around 40% more expensive than most other European countries. The need for central heating in the low season is reflected in the low rental cost.
