Property owner very disappointing

Dealing with the property manager for this property was strange, extremely painful and borderline unacceptable. First she wanted me to crate my dog while I was away which I think is inappropriate for a ‘pet friendly’ listing. Next she was very weird about the check in process. I had to text her my drivers license then take a photo of my car with the license plate of front of her property to get the entrance code to open the door. Then when I got there and texted her SHE FAILED TO ANSWER FOR HALF AN HOUR!!!! I was completely disgusted and was starting to think I had been scammed and would be forced to turn around and cancel my plans. Completely unacceptable in my opinion. Then her place has stuff EVERYWHERE. Then on the last night that I stayed there she texted me with information about what I had used in the house like she had entered the premises without telling me. I will never stay there again and I would encourage anyone else to have an extreme amount of pause before booking here.

I was not paid for this guest's stay because VRBO has not paid me for over 3 weeks. Hosts tire of guests like this. The home has had about $20,000 of improvements and Lindsay's stay is a point in time so my next guest will see a newer and better home to appreciate. She is another ungracious lying guest who does not follow the check in rules. My check in policies are no different than a large hotel chain which help secure the guest's identity and vehicle so there are no questions. I let guest enter the home early yet she declined. In the instructions, it says to let me know arrival time 10 minutes before so I can ensure on check in time. If I could post you the time stamps of her texts then I would and it is a lie about a half hour. I looked at my phone at 4:45pm and no text from her until 5pm. Another lie: I never entered the home nor had anyone else. I just needed to know if about usage of an item I can not even recall + i let her leave the home without doing anything. Finally, I like to have pets crated because I have had pet damage. I appeased her again...but frankly, I am a petsitter and if you do not like my pet rules that she agreed to, then she can leave her pet with a petsitter. Unaappreciatvie lying guests are not welcome at my home.

Canandaigua lakeside retreat

Beautiful lakefront home with balconies on all 3 levels to observe sunrises which were spectacular A pet friendly home in good shape The lake is very clean for swimming and for observing wildlife Host was responsive to needs We had a ventilation issue in the lower level due to construction going on but just was quick to respond to that Well appointed kitchen if you like to cook also

Thanks for appreciating my home. Glad your family could enjoy a lovely vacation before dropping your daughter off at Cornell. I work hard at maintaining and upgrading the home. We continue to improve the home on all levels with an investment of atleast $12500 to possibly $15000 investment in August 2021 alone. We upgrade in baby steps :-)

Lake house

Property was fine for our group, but a group of 48 year old men shouldn’t be treated like infants from a host who is collecting a high fee for their property.

Michael enjoyed his golfing trip with his buddies. He booked for 4 and ended up bringing 7. We had to do the bed shuffle since they were not couples :-). I gladly accommodated & was a gracious host as usual. Unfortunately, my neighbor texted a complaint to me about Michael's guest trespassing.

Excellent spot for family to convene

We had a great stay at this house. Communication with the host was excellent, and she was on top of any issue that arose. This home was perfect for my family members (all grown now) to each have a place of their own, while still allowing perfect together-time. Perfect access to the lake with absolutely gorgeous views, lovely grounds and visiting ducks!

A Bit of a Rough Start

There was some confusion around check-in. We booked this rental just 2 days in advance and didn't receive the owner's email with their rental contract until we arrived in Canandaigua. It was a long electronic form with many paragraphs that had to be initialed, and this we had to do on a phone in the car, on somewhat clumsy software, in order to receive the door code. It was eventually agreed that we could get into the house to use the wifi on our laptop. With patience and persistence on everyone's part, we worked it out.

I enjoyed hosting these guests but it was not easy because of their technology or lack there of. In 5 years of hosting, I have only had this happen this once. They picked my home because of its value, lakeside location, piano etc. They enjoyed their stay and let the house clean as they got it.

Kayla and her guests were very nice except that they brought more people than they should have to the home and her guests parked on my neighbor's land. This caused some understandable friction and her lovely response. Message to future guests: Please do not use my neighbors lawns, follow the rules and do not bring unregistered guests.

Very nice waterfront property. Other than the main level sliding door being difficult to open and close, property was very nice to stay at.

Glad to have had you. We treat the sliding glass door track to make it slide easier but I always recommend that my guests use two hands on the handle when opening and closing the door. Come again! and thanks for being a wonderful guest.
