Disappointing - DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We arrived at the property at 2:41 hoping to be able to get in early. I reached out to Vacasa and was told “regrettably no”. We stayed in the parking spot until 3:18, no one coming or going and asked again and was told no and that the key lock would accept my code at 4:00pm. Another family came early, we relayed our experience, but their code “worked” (cottage 5) approx 3:40 and they were able to get in. We waited until 3:57, tried until 4:02, and finally our code worked. While we were waiting in the small courtyard, one of the chairs had a crack in the seat (not usable), and the other one kept coming apart when leaning back. It was very frustrating. The cottage is definitely small. The futon was uncomfortable with springs or several hard things poking across the entire bottom area, I kept moving around to try to find a comfortable area to sit. My friend and I had to switch places to sit for at least one of us to be comfortable. The bedroom was so small, there wasn’t a place to put a suitcase. I could see that others had pushed the bed over (marks on the wall where the headboard was) and I could understand why. The bathroom walls above the sink had swelling to the walls and the toilet seat surface was peeling and looked terrible. The one night we did stay there (although I paid for 2) was not good. The bed was so hard and the futon was so uncomfortable. We hardly slept. We left the next day to a place that gave us the experience we wanted.

Not as pictured, dirty, and not manager not responsive

This is not a pleasant place to stay. The photos here are edited to make it seem nicer and brighter (the couch in the living room is grey/green, not orange/brown) and taken with a wide angle camera lens so it seems larger. It's smaller and dingier than the pictures make it seem. It's not well maintained at all, and honestly seems like they didn't really clean the place between guests. I told vacasa about this when we arrived, and they said they would follow up local management and send someone to clean, but we never heard back. More details below, but the summary is I wouldn't go back, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else stay here either. - Shower had a significant amount of mold and mildew growing in it - Carpet was covered in sand, white dog hair, and food crumbs - We found dirty dishes in the cupboard - There's no place to put luggage other than the living room. If you're staying here with 4 people, you have to put your luggage in the kitchen I guess - The sofa in the living room is bizarrely uncomfortable. Feels like springs poking into your bottom - It gets hot during the day in the summer and there's no fan or air movement. We opened the windows, and the breeze brought in a strong smell of sewage - The fridge seems to be having mechanical problems. There was a pulsating whirring/grinding noise - The toilet doesn't flush well and gets stuck running, and the bathroom sink faucet is loose/wiggly with poor water pressure I ran out of room to list all the other issues!

Unbeatable location

The location of these little cottages is unbeatable. It was super quaint and cute! Has everything you’d need for a weekend getaway for 2. I would NOT try sleeping on the front “sofa” - it was super hard. Definitely a pet friendly unit and smelled a bit like dog pee. We wished the gas fireplace was working but it they had just put a small electric on in front of the gas one, which was still okay. Overall, a decently cheap place to stay for a few nights. Just set your expectations correctly and you’ll have likely have a good time :)

Needs a lot of TLC

Property is over run by blackberries. Fences are falling apart. No screens on windows. Coffee spilled down side of kitchen cabinet and wall that did not get cleaned up. Duct tape on trim/floor at front door. Area rug old and falling apart. Cob webs in light/fan in bathroom. Dirty baseboards. Obviously wasn’t cleaned great. We had to repair the table leg as it was about to collapse and we also had to fixed the door knob as it was about to fall off as well. Speaking with the couple in unit 3. They said the flooring was coming up and they had windows that could not be opened at all. Property is in a great location but needs to be updated and repairs are a must. Totally misrepresented on vacasa and VRBO. Need to fire the housekeeper and property managers for lack of maintenance and cleaning.

So cute! I agree with some of the other reviews that its not really a 4-person place, the couch bed is too small for 2 adults. Luckily we had 2 small children on it and it was perfect for us fo a couple of nights. Such a great location to easil walk to the beach. Cannon beach is amazing and we will come back!!

Small cottage

The location is great. The ad said it sleeps 4 however it is good for 2 to 3 guests. Fortunately there were only 3 of us. Nice that it is pet friendly.
