Staying at this property is a unique adventure. After a few days we settled in, but there is more the hosts need to disclose before people book. "43 acre private property" does not suggest there are many houses next to one another, which there are. We thought we'd be all alone, and there was a house a few yards from us. You don't learn about the wildlife - stray dogs, roaming cattle, bear, etc. until you read the check-in book. They should disclose this before people book, not after you are there. The kitchen is tiny, only one burner and a toaster oven, so don't plan to do fancy cooking. That said, it was very well stocked.

The Best!!!

Overall, probably one of the best VRBO properties we’ve stayed in. From the private deck to the amazingly well stocked kitchen to the beautiful walks around the property and the yoga decks. It is a bit off of the beaten track, but that is something we really like. Just make sure you have the supplies you need on arrival. Very friendly hosts. We’ll be back.

This property is special. Nestled in the canyons with incredible views. Very comfortable accommodations and nicely appointed. Loved it.

Inaccurate listing; disappointment

Publié le 10 juill. 2021 sur HomeAway
The listing is inaccurate. There is not a full kitchen—no stove, just a single burner cooktop, no oven. Had we known we would not have booked to stay here. There is a toaster oven and microwave, which helped, but we cook a lot and had brought a ton of food that we ended up saving. There is also no A/C as listed, which was fine but just to note (and no blender, but that was minor). There are no window coverings, which is normally not an issue for us, except there is a motion-activated flood light outside the window at the head of the bed, which turns on whenever someone/thing walks by at night. My partner sleeps through everything and we could not sleep through this floodlight turning on (three times in one night). Part of the reason we chose to stay here was for the swimming and floating in the creek. Yes, there is a stagnant pool of water one might choose to swim/float in bookended by beaver dams (f you can figure out how to get to it; and it was really gross looking and we are not picky), but otherwise the creek was barely ankle deep. (We acknowledge that everywhere is suffering a drought right now and these may not be normal conditions.) We hiked in the creek for about a mile and it was mostly overgrown. The Land is fine. We've been to some magical places and this was not, in our opinion. There were myriad other issues but these were the major ones for us. Oh, and the hosts are slow to respond to messages through Vrbo, which their "manual" requests we do (more than 24 hours to get replies). All that being said, the house is actually pretty nice, and there are some nice amenities like the coffee and toiletries. Access to trails was nice, but if you're looking for a remote, idyllic place to stay, this is not it.

We wanted a quiet place away from 4th of July fireworks for our dogs. We got our wish. The adobe house is a lovely retreat, in a beautiful area.
