Rachelle, First. I want to thank you for giving me your honest feedback from your stay as it helps me to improve guest experience. An outstanding guest experience is always my goal, and I am sorry that your stay did not meet or exceed your expectation. When I prepared the room for your stay, there was no cat odor present, but I did notice the smell after check out, and entered the room to clean it. If there is ever any unwanted odor, I always take care of it through thorough cleaning. Because my cats are not permitted in the guest rooms, I could only surmise that the odor was tracked in from shoes. Regardless, I will be sure to change my procedural check in regimen to ask guests if they have any issues or concerns at that time (as well as through their stay). In any future travels, I would suggest you bring concerns to the person who manages the property so he/she can resolve any issues. If you had brought it to my attention, I would have resolved the problem immediately because that does not meet my quality standards. I will be looking into making sure that all descriptions clearly say that cats are present on the property. Again, I wish you had told me from the beginning because I could have turned on the air purifiers and steam cleaned all of the carpets to alleviate the problem. I apologize that you and your son had an uncomfortable stay because of the cats. Each guest is unique in what he/she expects and prefers in their stay, and I often sit at the breakfast table to get to know my guests and just talk. However, I interfered with your family's quality time, and for that, I am truly sorry. This experience and your feedback will change what I do in the future. Being onsite allows me to take care of all guests if the need arises after hours, and you were surprised by that so I can understand your concern. While I cannot undo your stay, I can use your feedback to assure that this does not occur in the future so I appreciate your willingness to share.
