Beautiful Views and a Reasonable Price

Emplacement : Location is Captain Cook, probably a 30 minute drive from the Kona aiport. The area is known for snorkeling and coffee.
I needed a place to stay the first night I arrived on Big Island before I drove to Hilo in the morning, and this was an incredibly reasonable price given that A) I booked it very last minute and B) the accommodations are incredibly comfortable.
To note before beginning: This isn't a standard hotel, it's more akin to a Bed and Breakfast. Large house where the owner (husband and wife) live and several rooms where the guests stay.
I got an email from one of the owners a couple weeks before my trip giving me detailed instructions on how to get to there (warning, it's at the bottom of a quite steep hill), and one of them was around to let me in when I got there around 10:30 PM. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and there was a bathroom attached to the room. The room's view was quite beautiful
The wife cooks up a delicious breakfast in the morning, and all of the guests will eat out on the patio that faces the ocean. The owners will usually hang out and make small talk, give tips, and tell you about things that you can do on the island. As a person who always appreciates the local perspective, this was very helpful.
I only stayed the one night, so I can't say much further, but I would definitely use them again if I go to Big Island on the Kona side.

What a special, peaceful place this is. Rebecca went out of her way to make my stay as pleasant as possible, pointing out many nice restaurants close by. My favorite was Shaka Tacoz by far. The grounds of the property are covered with a lush and verdant collection of interesting plants that fascinated me for evening walks in the garden or up the driveway. The driveway is easy to manage once you realize there is a flat spot at the top that allows you to safely enter traffic on the main road. The room I stayed in was pleasantly, though not fancily apportioned, and was more than adequate for my stay, which included working nearby. I love the location, being away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas, though they are close by if you need to access them. I can’t wait to stay here again.

The view was great. The room was large. I was a little disappointed that the owner did not let me know that breakfast was not included with the lower level room. She said it was because the lower room had a kitchen, but I was not made aware of this until after I arrived.

Great host. Breakfast was amazing. There are beach chairs, towels and a blanket. We will stay here again. Cute dog!
