Needs a refresh

Noisy and in need of a refresh overall. Shame, for a city centre hotel in a prime location.

Treated ourselves to a couple of days away. Booked a standard room which was over looking the castle on 6th floor. The were Staff friendly and helpful.It was clean and tidy throughout the hotel. Great central location to shopping bars and restaurants Arrived at 2.30pm and paid £30 for 2 days/ 48 hours parking which we assumed would enable us to leave our car in the car until 2.30pm on the day we were due to depart. Only to find out from the receptionist that we would be logged out of the parking at 11am check out time. This should be made clear to costumers when they check in. However the receptionist extended our park free of charge as she knew we had paid for 48 hours as we wanted to do more shopping.

The bathroom had seen better days and the bath had an area where water stains were visible from where a shower must have leaking for some time. The pillow and bed clothes has an old sweaty smell to them. On checking out I wasn’t given a final bill as the computer system was down. A shame a location good and staff friendly.

just made easy and enjoyable by the reception \ security staff. will use again in the future. breakfast was cooked to perfection . great all round thank you.
