No air con and windows don’t open so it’s very clammy and hot in rooms, although they do offer a small fan it’s not enough.
Lots of cobwebs on ceiling, lights.
Could do with a update on painting ect

A lovely stay with very minor quibbles

Only downside was only one working lift, which was quite slow, they lost our afternoon tea booking (although we were still able to have some) and there's the typical need to repaint or general maintenance you find in older hotels, but you'll only notice if you are really looking for it and so minor it doesn't take away from the charm of the place

Very disappointed with this hotel overall.
We had been in our room less than 5 minutes before getting on the phone to reception to say about how dirty the room was. Then went to our second room to then not even be in there 30 seconds to find that that also hadn't been cleaned but thankfully our 3rd room was much better hotel needs a good clean and a make over to say the least... staf where good check in was easy.. beds was comfy but the hotel is way to warm not even the fan helped we also had food there it was very nice but we did find a bit of plastic on our garlic bread.

The Angel hotel is a beautiful old building but has been kept in excellent repair. The reception staff were so lovely and helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better service. In fact all the staff I came in contact with were just the nicest people.
I didn’t eat there but on previous experience I know the food is top notch.
The only minor issue is that it can be a tiny bit noisy as it’s situated near pubs but it isn’t intrusive and I still managed to sleep well. All in all a very enjoyable stay and I recommend The Angel to anyone.

Staff very friendly answered all questions and would highly recommend the breakfast was lush
