Publié le 30 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe stayed along with my brother and his family - 6 adults, 2 children and one dog.
The house is as described and shown in the pics. Perfect location 5 mins walk from the beach, shop, pub, takeaways. 5 min drive from Cardigan which happened to be holding a food festival on the Saturday when we popped in to get wetsuits.
The village of Aberporth is small and not like the larger areas of New Quay or Aberaeron so don’t expect a plethora of shops and bars. However it is very charming and we spent everyday on the beach with cocktails from the Boy Ashore when it opened at 3pm which is located on the beach.
The house is old with noisy stairs but this adds to its quirkiness. It has everything you need.
The owners contacted us as soon as we booked and were very informative.
Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
Make sure to have the fish & chips from the takeaway as they are the best we’ve ever tasted!

Amazing property with sea views

It was colourful and quirky and spacious and relaxing.
The location was perfect!
The garden was fab and the parquet flooring was lush!

Large lodgings in Aberporth
Publié le 29 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is a really large and spacious property, which is done up to high standards. The walk to the beach and the costal path is short and nice. We had a fantastic stay, despite variable weather. We had some nice BBQs outside, the garden could be a little more atmospheric.

Wonderful Family Getaway
Publié le 6 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayWe stayed for a week with my family for my parents 70th birthday. The house was ideal, great communal living areas and plenty of space in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well-stocked and the bathrooms were brilliant. There was always hot water and the showers were powerful. However, we are a tall family and found the provided bath towels a little small. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the beach was a treat for people and dogs alike. Any queries we had were answered swiftly and in a friendly way.

The communication before was brilliant, the house was perfect for our big extended family, plenty of room for everyone, the kitchen was excellent and everyone had a comfortable bed to sleep in. We will 100% be going back again.

Happiness in Aberporth, Wales
Publié le 1 mai 2021 sur HomeAwayWe came to stay at the Sea Captain's House at a time when there were no facilities for lively children open, at a time of covid; and yet it made no difference to this wonderful holiday at all. We adored the house and the friendly neighbours and shop keepers in the locality. The beach was a beautiful playground for the younger children. We loved our walks in one of the most scenic places on earth and the sunshine and ice creams in Newquay, close by. I will definitely want to book the Captain's Cottage again, we were made to feel most welcome.

Brilliant house brilliant location

Fantastic Stay!

Everything about the trip was perfect, the house was spotless and the photos on HomeAway really don't do it justice! Paul & Frankie have renovated the property and it's simply stunning, with a brilliant blend of old and new features. The location is perfect, short walk to the beach and local pubs.
Would recommend and I'm sure that we'll be back!

Great house, perfect location

We arrived and Paul and Fran showed us around, talked us through local walks, pubs, eateries, shops etc. We headed to the beach immediately after and the kids bodyboarded. There were paddleboarders, kayaks out in the water as the sea wasn't too rough. Its 5 mins walk from the beach - this was a massive bonus. Aberporth is a great beach, not too crowded and the village is not touristy. From the beach there is a pub, ice cream kiosk and cafe, toilets, so great facilities. The coastal path is right there and beautiful walks and views are to be had. We also went to Mwnt, Penbryn and New Quay.
The Chinese takeaway 2 doors down is good food.
The house itself is very well equipped It has been beautifully restored and you can feel the love that has gone into it.
This is a fabulous house in an equally fabulous location, 100% recommend.

Perfect holiday home by the sea

The house is lovely inside it has only just been renovated, don't let the dark pictures put you off, it gives it a nice cosy feel and everything is finished to a good standard. Practically it works well, two of the bedrooms have extra beds for youngsters etc. There are two family bathrooms with good showers and three extra toilets if you count the one outside (yes we found it!).
The house is in a great location, 5 mins or so walk down to the beach which means you can do an impromptu "let's go to the beach and watch the sunset" etc which is what we wanted. You can easily park three cars and there's a fully enclosed back garden. Aberporth itself has what you need and not as busy as other places we visited, a good base to explore the coast. Can recommend a trip to New Quay on the dolphin spotting boat. All in all very happy, top marks Frankie and Paul for a great place - thanks :-)
