Perfect hen party location

Clift Hill is a beautiful and spacious location that easily accommodated our 23-large hen party.
The property was immaculate upon arrival and well stocked with all the essentials - a full pantry and kitchen, bedding, towels, even as far as sandals for the hot tub!
The hot tub hire was an extra bonus and easily sorted via our host.
The hosts - Roland and Lynn - were amazing! Roland made the organisational process so much easier, providing lots of helpful info and contacts. Lynn met us on arrival at the property and gave us a fab tour. Both were only a text or call away all weekend. Excellent hosts who went the extra mile and made the experience seamlessly smooth.
We all had a brilliant time and would thoroughly recommend Clift Hill House.

Homely, spacious and very clean
Publié le 28 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayClift Hill is a fabulous place to stay. We were a group of 20 friends and family and we loved the house. It's extremely clean, well equipped and comfortable. It has impressive rooms and views but it also feels very homely. The kids (aged between 4 and 11) had a brilliant time exploring the house and gardens, playing with the games and outdoor play equipment and taking over the hot tub.

A perfect location and residence for a family get together.
Publié le 14 avr. 2019 sur HomeAwayRoland has opened up his welcoming and spacious home with so many facilities and personal touches (such as treats in the bedrooms and plenty of things for the whole family to enjoy from a well looked after garden, DVD projection facilities to darts!) which made our weekend relaxed and enjoyable.
Roland was very quick to respond to messages and provided really useful information.
An improvement might be to remove the barbed wire from the garden gate leading into the field - although there may be good reason for this.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope you managed to climb over gate as barbed wire is in the corner. It's used to stop the cows rubbing on gate and then storming into garden! We had 20 last year, very hard to get them out. I will look at alternatives though.

Beautiful house in a beautiful area - highly recommended

Roland was a fantastic owner, with great communication, all queries answered quickly and a real respect for privacy (e.g. checking that it was OK for the gardener to come on his usual day). All in all, a fantastic week.

A wonderful house full of character
Publié le 10 juill. 2017 sur HomeAwayWe rented Clift Hill for a weekend for 14 people (8 adults and 6 kids) in July. It was wonderful. The house is large and interesting, with fine views across the fields and works of art in all the rooms. Elegant bedrooms (the master with en-suite bathroom is particularly fine), a grand dining room with an intriguing family portrait, and a comfy living room. The kids loved the place - it's perfect for hide-and-seek, and we had a great time splashing around in the river. Roland takes a delightfully laid-back approach to the whole business and we really felt at home. We just did a lovely walk 2 miles along the river to Kirklinton Hall (picturesque ruin with gardens and cafe), but this would be a great base for days out in the northern Lake District.
