Dear Kate: Thank you very much for your comments, very much appreciated, as we do aim to give all of our guests a great experience and in your case, you are in an absolute minority when it comes to the level of satisfaction reflected in your review. However, we do endeavour to act on reviews where appropriate and are committed to continual improvement. For purposes of clarity, I will take each point you make in turnFirstly, on the pre order breakfast form you requested exactly what you got for your breakfast. You ordered "Scrambled eggs with Smoked Salmon on a Toasted Bagel", not Potched eggs as you mention but I guess you mean poached. We gave you exactly what appears on your guest completed menu, and you did not tell us that you wanted poached eggs, if you had asked for them, rest assured you would have received them. I am happy to send you a copy of that form completed in your or Michael’s handwriting.Secondly, we make no secret that this is a B&B and this is our home not a hotel, and there is a big difference between the two. As far as access to the house is concerned, the door is kept locked for the privacy and security of both ourselves and our guests, otherwise people could simply walk in off the street. You went out for dinner at the Brewers Fayre after watching the football, and came back quite early, so even if you had a front door key you would have used it only once when returning from dinner. Thousands of guests before you have never thought the lack of a front door key an issue. We do not see any need to change this. In actual fact we do not issue front door keys as the majority of guests stay for 1 night but our insurance company does not allow us to do so, for reasons that must appear obvious to guests.Yes, you are right about the bedroom not locking from the outside but it does from the inside when you are in the room for your own privacy and safety. As both Maria and I are in the property at all times when guests stay, we have never had an issue of people entering other rooms You were, as you know, the only guests in that night so you had the house to yourselves.Thirdly, the room particulars on booking sites such as Expedia have many clear photographs that show the bedroom and bathroom and the bath, so it is easy to see what the bathroom consists of, and it states that it is a slipper bath which is smaller than a normal bath tub. It is clearly not best suited to people who are larger than normal.You mention that the bed was luxurious, thank you, and is definitely the case, as it stars a clear favourite with guests who stay in that room.Best wishes Kev and Maria
