Nestling on the banks of the Tarn, Le Chalet du Carla is a rare nugget. A confidential address that promises a retreat in the heart of nature, away from prying eyes and to the soothing rhythm of the river.

Evoking a precious memory, owner Éliane shares with emotion the story of this chalet that marked her youth. "Le Chalet du Carla, where every summer was filled with laughter, fishing parties, boat trips and lively barbecues. The siestas under the oak trees, lulled by the cicadas, are moments engraved forever in my memory. After a long absence, it was my dream to bring it back to life, to offer you the chance to experience the magic of this place and discover the beauty of its region."

Over 70 years old, this authentic wooden chalet has been lovingly restored. While retaining its charm of yesteryear, it now offers guests exceptional comfort. Every nook and cranny exudes a warm, cosy atmosphere, thanks to a harmonious combination of rustic architecture and modern facilities.

The chalet has one bedroom with a comfortable 160 cm bed, another bedroom with two single beds and a living room with a sofa bed, which can accommodate up to six people (4 adults). The highlight is undoubtedly the Spa, inviting you to relax after a day of exploring.

Magnifique chalet parfaitement équipé au bord du Tarn avec ponton privé. Décoré avec goût et très confortable. Un accueil particulièrement chaleureux et attentionné de Céline et son époux chargés des etats des lieux et de la maintenance. Séjour vraiment très réussi! A ne pas manquer pour deux qui cherchent une halte confortable au grand calme au bord de l eau !

Perfect .....again!
We never return to the same holiday place as want to try somewhere new each time. We loved Chalet Carla so much we broke the rule! It was just as we remembered, peaceful, calm and ideal for re-charging the batteries! The surrounding area is varied and interesting with plenty to do. Love it!

perfect chalet surrounded by nature
we enjoyed our 2 weeks holiday in this chalet lovely chalet very much. The chalet is very comfortable and fully equipped. we loved our stay here and also the river for our (almost) daily swims. The chalet is located on a large private terrain, so you have ultimate privacy. Its surrounded by nature and the location is very quiet as the chalet is at the lake further down from the main (quiet) road. We enjoyed our bicycle and motorbike trips to the beautiful surrounding and old villages and the city of Albi, that are surprisingly not visited by many tourists. Eliane and Celine were great hosts, so all in all a perfect stay. Rob&Anita

Utter perfection!
When I gave my partner the short list of 10 properties to choose from he didn't get past this one! 1. It's next to the river. 2. There is a boat. As we were going in October there was an undercover terrace and wood burning stove so it ticked my boxes. On arrival we realised it ticked all possible boxes. The chalet has been in the family for decades and has just been beautifully and lovingly restored to a high standard whilst retaining the charm of the original building. The open plan living room kitchen has windows all round, overlooks the river, so light and spacious . The bedroom is airy and snug. The bathroom has a double shower and large sink. The decor is tasteful and stylish and there is everything you need for modern living (nespresso machine, juicer, wifi, more crockery and cutlery you can shake a big stick at, lovely shower, DVD, TV, huge gas BBQ on the terrace). And a boat. There is a welcome pack of bread, butter, local fruit juice, marmalade, coffee which is great until you have time to shop the next day. It is so calm and peaceful. The river, wide and slow running adds to total switch off. There are loungers, chairs on the pontoon and a beautiful covered terrace overlooking the river for eating. Eliane and Phillipe were so welcoming and friendly, very thorough in explaining everything in the chalet and surrounding area. We felt very honoured as the first English to stay! Philippe was very helpful showing us how to use the boat (there is an extra charge for this but worth it for evening meandering up the river at sunset). The local town of Marssac (3 mins drive) has 4 boulangeries, great local wine shop with very helpful owner, spar, great hairdressers (ask for Annie!) and a basic market on a Friday morning (cheese, bread, fruit and veg, fresh fish, butcher). The chalet is perfectly situated to see all the local sites, Albi, Cours sur Ciel, Gaillac, Lisle sur Tarn, Puycelsi are all less than half an hour away and filled our week when we finally managed to drag ourselves away (and get him off the boat!). Toulouse is less than an hour away. We would have no hesitation to come back again for a recharge (and the boat). The area is stunning and the chalet makes it all a perfect package. And did I mention the boat......?!
