Divided into four separate apartments (two bedroom apartments and two bedroom apartments) can accommodate up to 20 people but also smaller families. Available to all guests a large lounge with a fireplace, sofas and a table tennis table. The lounge is equipped with free wi-fi system. Outside a large garden with tables and umbrellas and lounge chairs for sunbathing around our infinity pool. Also in the garden a barbecue and a wood stove.

We had a great week. Lovely house and pool. Friendly owners. Quite remote and distant drom prime locations (Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pisa and Florence most an hour or more away,) however there are amenities closeby. Nice private appartments.

Lovely stay. Some areas for improvement.
Overall we enjoyed our 10-day stay at Lorenza’s place. There are many pros to the house (especially value for money) but there are also a few cons that it would be good to be aware of. The house is in a very scenic spot and near the charming town of CastelNuovo. It should be noted that the location is rural and some distance from the main sites (around 1hr – 1hr 30 mins to historic towns: Siena, San Gimignano and the coast) along windy roads. The house is very spacious and served our party of 10 well. What may not be apparent from the Vrbo photos is that the apartments are on the top side of the building and have their own kitchens, while the shared sitting room and kitchen is on the lower level. You have to walk around the outside of the house to get from one level to the next. The shared kitchen is small for the size of the property and not well equipped. The same goes for the sitting room which has some rather tired and tables and chairs. The fridge was broken for the first half of our stay. After sending a reminder, Lorenza switched it over for one from one of the apartments. The pool was excellent and clean. There is a clothes washing machine in a nearby building. You pay 4 euros per wash. Lorenza and her son Jacopo were very friendly and communicative. Lorenza very kindly organized a cake and balloons for my nieces whose birthday it was the day we arrived. This was a really lovely touch. On the downside, we did find it rather odd that Lorenza would often arrive at the house and walk in unannounced. Although we were very grateful for her regular gifting of apricots we thought it would have been nice to check with us first if we were ok for her to come over. Our check out was also not ideal. We’d confirmed with Jacopo that we’d check out at the Vrbo stated time of 10 am. However, the gardener started cutting the grass outside the bedrooms at 7:30am. He was followed by Lorenza and the cleaning team at 8:30am. We asked if they could hold off cleaning until the agreed check out time. They then hung around the house until we left which was quite awkward and unfortunate. Note that there’s no welcome guide or info on the Vrbo app so it’s important to ask lots of questions at check in which may be challenging if you don’t speak Italian, as Lorenza doesn’t speak English. Overall, good value if you don’t mind basic accommodation, a few interruptions of privacy and longish drives for sightseeing.

A Tuscan Dream!
Lorenza's villa is perfect for friends, family, or larger groups. The way it's set out - 4 apartments plus a large communal living room/dining room/games room/kitchen - means guests can have some 'downtime' as well as enjoying their holiday together. Lorenza is lovely and could not be more helpful and accomodating! She was there to greet us on arrival and gave us helpful tips about enjoying the local environment. The infinity pool gives glorious views over the hills and through the dappled light of the oak trees. We used a local mini-bus driver for fabulous day-trips to Siena and Volterra, and for an evening visit and dinner in the beautiful town of Massa Marittima. We had a magical week. Thank you, Lorenza!

Una bella settimana nella campagna toscana
Una piacevole settimana con amici in Toscana. Il casale è perfetto per un gruppo di 3/4 famiglie. Spazi indipendenti ma anche comuni, compresa una bella piscina. La posizione va valutata in base al programma che si ha: un po’ troppo lontana se si vuole andare sempre al mare e vistare altre città d’arte. Perfetta se si vuole godere del casale e fare solo qualche escursione.

Extra Money Upon Arrival
I was recently married in Radicondoli and had booked this place for my bridal party to stay. I didn't have very man y complaints for my friends except "a little stuffy". We knew there was going to be an extra fee for heating (we went in November), and were willing to pay. I thought the fee was included in the original VRBO price, but the owner insisted we pay cash to him when we get there for "fire wood". Long story short, I don't think its right for extra hidden fees, which could have been prepaid before we even arrived. They were upset we did not give them the money upon arrival, even though they had it on the 2nd of 4 days staying there. He knew I was there for my wedding, and insisted on my wedding day, I mend this use, which I felt could have been avoided all together if he didn't feel the need to collect the heating fee in cash (which seems like it is against VRBO rules).

Fantastic location!
Wonderful family friendly property. Great setting!! Superb hosts. We went as a group of families and the "big house" as we called it was great for communal dinners and table tennis competitions!!! Then we had our own apartments as a family. Pool is virtually an infinity pool and you can watch the swallows diving down too! Thank you Lorenza and fanily for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful setting, attentive host and a good base for a large group holiday.
We arrived at “il pavone” after an easy 1 1/2hr Drive from Pisa and we were instantly impressed by the location and back drop of this large Villa. We were greeted by the lovely Lorenza and her equally friendly son Jacobe (sorry if I’ve mis-spelled/mis-pronounced that). They were attentive and informative and through-out our stay Lorenza was helpful and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The Villa was well maintained and clean and the pool area was regularly managed. The area in general was quiet but equally the small village of Castelnuovo di val di Cecina was a few minutes drive and had everything you needed. It’s also a lovely place to walk around with some excellent view points. Behind this village is a power station, but powered by the geothermal hot springs - so environmentally friendly - and you can’t see the power station from the Villa. Around the Villa were some lovely walks suitable for younger children in our group and for the budding runners there were some nice (hilly) routes with views as rewards for the hot/hilly effort! We ate in most evenings and there was plenty of different out door areas to accommodate our group of 19. The back drop is an ideal setting for a relaxed meal and we were fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of the pizza oven and barbecue - we popped to the butcher who provided the best T-Bone steak plus cooking instructions - it was a truly delicious meal! The Villa is also far enough away from towns/cities that its a star gazers paradise. We had a real good mix of pool days and days out and this Villa is ideal for both - Volterra to the north was worth a visit (via a river stop for swimming) and to the south west is Fallonica - beautiful sandy beach and nice seafood restaurant. Lorenza provided us with details of an alternative quieter beach slightly north of Fallonica - and it was worth the 1 hr journey. There was also the water park at Fallonica ideal for kids 4+. We felt there was more to explore locally but ran out of time - hoping we can return to this area again and we would definitely come back to this Villa. All in all as a group we would definitely reccomend this Villa - it’s got so many loveable features and Lorenza made us feel so welcome.

Schönes Reiseziel im ruhigen
Wir waren unter 11 Freunden zusammen in diesem Ferienhaus in der Toskana. Wir haben schöne 2 Wochen dort verbracht. Das Haus an sich ist wirklich geräumig und für große Gruppen geeignet. Es ist in 4 Apartments mit jeweilige Badezimmer und Küche Unterteilt und einer extra Sala wo sich alle gemeinsam treffen, essen und unterhalten können. Der Pool ist wirklich toll und diesen braucht man auch im Hochsommer (wir hatten 40 grad). Die Absprachen mit den Vermietern waren einfach und unkompliziert . Jetzt ein paar nicht so tolle Punkte.. Die Betten sind leider sehr unbequem und in die Jahre gekommen, was manchen Probleme bereiten könnte. Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind auch eher schwierig, aber machbar. Lidl 1 Stunde entfernt. Die Auffahrt ist (persönlich für mich) eine schwierige Angelegenheit gewesen, sie ist super steil und man muss wirklich aufpassen wie man hochfährt. Im Großen und Ganzen, war es trotzdem sehr toll und würden das Haus weiterempfehlen.

Merveilleusement située si vous voulez passer des vacances au calme, la maison est idéale pour 4 couples d'amis ou en famille. Les chambres des appartements sont spacieuses et restent fraiches pour les nuits. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié la gentillesse et l'accueil des propriétaires qui sont de très bon conseil pour les visites. La visite d'un petit renard, les soirs, a également émerveillé petits et grands !!

Beyond our expectations!
What a vacation! A beautiful house in a beautiful setting and a very nice landlady. Very good social areas both inside and outside. A nice clean and good size pool. All apartements were good except the one at the bortom floor which was very damp. The internet connection was a bit unreliable but it was good for the children to be without for a while. We would gladley come again. Annika with family.

Unser Aufenthalt war sehr schön. In Castelnuovo di val di cecina waren alle nötigen Geschäfte zur täglichen Versorgung vorhanden. Das Haus war für uns als Familie mit Grosseltern und 3 Familien sehr gut. Jeder hatte seinen Rückzugsort und es gab ausreichende Gemeinschaftsflächen. Wir haben nur die Gemeinschaftsküche genutzt Vielen Dank für die gute Kommunikation mit den Vermietern.

Casale meraviglioso immerso nel verde della val di Cecina. Appartamenti deliziosi e ben accessoriati e soprattutto uno spazio comune fantastico dove, essendo noi tre famiglie con 6 ragazzi, abbiamo potuto trascorrere insieme il tempo davanti al camino, mangiando insieme e giocando a ping pong. Il tutto a massimo un’ora da moltissime località della meravigliosa Toscana (San Gimignano, Volterra, ecc.). La proprietaria si è dimostrata puntuale, disponibile ed estremamente cortese. Grazie di tutto. Serberemo un bellissimo ricordo della nostra vacanza!
