If you are down Castle Douglas way, planning to stay over, then this place is perfect. Easy and friendly checkin, spotless room and a team that went out their way to make us feel welcome and valued. Easy to see why it gets top marks. We had dinner which was excellent and the tap beer was good to! Cooked Breakfast was first class. Best sausages I have had in ages. Will defo be back.

Last minute break with our dog for tge Soap box Derby. Everything went to plan with lots of communication. No issues booking in, made welcome even the dog and everything explained if we stayed out late. Quality filling breakfast.

I didn't realise the room wasn't en-suite. for £80 I think a single room with a bathroom 20m along the corridor is way over priced. No shower in the very dated bathroom, TV couldn't get BBC or Alba, room small and very dated. On the positive the service was good and breakfast was very good.

Hi Jacqueline, We're glad the person who stayed enjoyed the service and the breakfast! We are sad to read your review and only wish you had mentioned the telly or your thoughts on the room in person at the time, as we'd have been able to help. This is our most basic room in the hotel at 72 including breakfast, and it's advertised clearly on Expedia and the website as not being en-suite. We have had one other guest miss this detail and write a similar review in the past, but I'm afraid it's in the description of the room when you book.We appreciate the heads-up about the BBC channels, we only wish we could have fixed it for you at the time! Wishing you and the person who stayed a happy onward journey.
