Publié le 29 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayDirt road to quiet and privacy. Cool evenings . About 45 minutes to Taos which has great food and the Taos Cow. Wife loves the shopping (e.g.Moxie). Josey had a fenced yard and a creek to splash in.
We have multiple stays here and the owners have become like family.

Perfect Mountain Home
Publié le 17 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe loved staying at Jim and Mari Lu's home in the mountains above Santa Fe. We came for the feast day celebrations at Picuris Pueblo, for the weaving in Chimayo, and for hiking in Bandolier National Monument, all of which are easy to access, as are Taos and Santa Fe, which gave us all kinds of options. The home is on a safe, quiet mountain road, with a lovely creek out back and hammocks we took full advantage of. It is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, the coffee machine is stocked, and the WiFi is strong. Jim and Mari Lu, who offered homemade salsa to welcome us, were the perfect hosts, unobtrusive but available when we needed them. The "neighborhood" is very quiet, and the night sky is an astronomer's dream. We look forward to returning.

Like home
Publié le 26 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayJim and Mari Lu were great hosts, responsive and very welcoming. We felt like we were at home. Mari Lu gave us some of her delicious salsa. The hummingbirds were plentiful and a joy to watch. We and our pup enjoyed the nearby stream and the deck.

Great Getaway
Publié le 29 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayCute little house not too far from Sipapu and Taos. We had a group of 7 ppl and we all loved it. We got to see snowfall at the cabin and it was gorgeous, especially over the back yard. Everything was well stocked, we love having the washer and dryer and the wood stove was nice as well. There isn't a lot in the area so we cooked at the cabin a lot and the only thing we missed was a dishwasher. The host are awesome and readily available if you need anything. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great property with fantastic views!

In addition, there were VCR and DVD players with a wide range of movies that came in handy after a long day spent skiing (in addition to streaming television access). Great location that offered a fantastic view. We will be staying again!

Snowboarding trip

Cleanliness: We arrived well past check-in to find the couple cleaning. The toilet had not been cleaned among other things such as dishes in the sink.
Being that they were in the home this made CHECK IN quite awkward, but simple. They were apologetic and left a bottle of wine.
Listing accuracy: Everything is as pictured, however I wish I'd known the 2 bedrooms are conjoined and there is not much privacy as you must go into ones room to get to the bathroom. I feel that this is important information.
Communication: there was over communication in the sense that the home owners popped in and out randomly which made me very uncomfortable and was a complete invasion of privacy. Cake was brough while we were in the middle of dinner at the table which was sweet but it felt like more like we were being watched. They also came by while we were gone during the day. Its obvious they stay nearby. THis information needs to be listed and I would have NOT stayed in this home. We texted to ask if there was a way to watch the playoff football game that evening with no response. So, if you plan to watch an event expect to watch from your phone as there is no tv options that we could figure out and zero cell service.
The location is off the path a bit, trust the maps would be my advice.
Overall, the home is very spacious. The wood burning fire was nice. The oven shoots flames if you use the broil feature. The couple was nice.

We arrived at the house after check-in to find some guests had arrived. We had been pulled away for a family emergency and had left 2 beds unmade. The guests let us in to make the beds. Their gear was spread throughout the house, and they were watching TV. Brett and his family arrived later as we were finishing the beds and then we left. The house had been thoroughly cleaned before anyone arrived and we didn’t leave any dishes in the sink.
Our listing says that bedroom #2 is accessed through bedroom #1.
We’re sorry about the over communication.
I did come by while they were gone to pick up the trash from the outside trash cans. We don’t have a public sanitation service, so I pick it up and take it to the transfer station. We never go inside unless we are invited. We do live near by. Many have found that to be very helpful.
We never received a text about the TV or anything else. I suspect they sent their text to our land line. We provide 2 phone numbers so we can be reached at any time. 1 is a cell phone and 1 is a land line.
After Brett and his family left, I found the ROKU unplugged and detached from the TV. I reattached, plugged in, and reprogrammed the ROKU. It worked fine before they arrived, and it worked fine after I reconnected it.
I’m sorry they had no cell service. WIFI calling is available by using our fast fiber optic service.
I checked the broiler. We have a gas range so there is an open broiler flame at the top of the oven. That is how it works. Broiler works as designed.
Our home books for a maximum of 8. After we asked, they told us they brought 10.
They were very friendly and they left our home clean.

Once again a wonderful stay

The hosts are wonderful people who work hard to make us feel welcome. Thank you again for a wonderful time -extra bonus this year was all the beautiful snow!!

Cabin stay

We had ample firewood and communication with the host was 5 stars.

Publié le 13 mars 2023 sur HomeAwayThe place is much roomer than the pictures. I love the layout of the place. The car port was nice since it snow on Saturday. My group really enjoy our stay. The host was always there when we needed them. I would definitely stay here again!

Ski respite
