Exclusive, safe, quiet island living Charleston!

Spacious, bright, (with blackout shades),inviting island apartment available with king bed, pull out luxury queen mattress with an air topper that plugs in. The apartment is nestled in a safe private island with walking paths everywhere & close proximity to all points of interest. There is a ferry to downtown which is a 10 minute walk away, walking paths everywhere, Uber easily or drive anywhere, this is truly a wonderful vacation spot. Access to three private community pools within 5 minute walking distance that have splash park & baby pools. An air mattress & pack & play are also available on request.
The space
This is a private island, Daniel Island, a vacation spot just minutes away from beaches, 15 minutes to airport and city of Charleston. Downtown is between 20 and 35 minutes by car depending on traffic. 20 car minutes to Patriots Point. 20 minutes car to Isle of Palms, 20 minutes to Sullivan's Island. Instead of driving you can take the ferry to Downtown Charleston daily with drinks and a view of the harbor. Can't beat it here. On street free, very available parking. No issues finding a spot right in front of the house.

We were on our way to Charleston when the owner reached out to tell us that we could not stay the first night at the apartment due to tile work being done??? We were refunded one nights stay. We rented a hotel room for the first night, and were told we could check in on Saturday morning. I reached out Saturday morning to see what time we could check in and the owner said we could come on over so we packed our car again and were in the hotel parking lot when the owner text again and said she would have to cancel the whole weekend because of a leak in the bathroom. The owner did refund the whole weekend and I understand that some thing are out of our control, however, my husband and I had rented the apartment well in advance to celebrate our anniversary, we had planned to stay 4 nights, over 3 hours away from home, and now we have no where to stay. The reason I rented from VRBO was so we would not have to stay in a hotel...We did find a nice place to stay after searching most of Saturday to find it, but it all worked out and we enjoyed our time together. I don't think I would ever consider staying at this place in the future, Please ignore the scores on the questions listed above!. The way the review is set up you HAVE to answer. Maybe there should be other choices on the questionnaire. I hope others have a better experience than we did. I learned a lot from this experience and I hope the owner did too. Best wishes.

Beach trip
The listing was a little deceptive in that it showed a pic of a dock over water so we thought it was directly on the river. Also, it advertised a one bedroom and it was really a studio. That being said, the unit was not what we expected, but was delightful! Bright, airy and clean. The neighborhood was safe and very walkable. Trails lead to the estuary where we saw wildlife like jumping fish, wading birds and 'gators, yikes! It was a little far from the beach, but hey it was vacation, so 20 minutes wasn't THAT far. The owner responsive and available by text. Overall a good stay.

Beautiful Studio Apartment
This studio apartment was so beautiful. It was perfect for my best friend and I to stay for the long weekend. It was close to everything and in a very nice area. The check in and out process was super easy. The bed was very comfortable and the layout was nice and open. I would highly recommend this apartment. My friend and I even were saying we would stay there if we had stayed a week. If I need a place in this area, I would definitely love to stay here again.

Great for our purpose
Very clean, bright, comfortable property. Owner was prompt in responding when we needed something. Bed and bedding were perfect. Comfortable lounging area. Kitchen was workable, but be aware there are no basics provided such as salt, pepper, sugar, and no table to eat on. Even a little folding table would be a great addition. Location was outstanding, including closeness to Charleston attractions. The price was very reasonable for what you get with this property.

Family trip to Charleston
The location was great and the neighborhood was beautiful. We found it easy enough to get to all of the places we wanted to visit. I wish I had read the reviews before booking this property as it’s more of a studio apartment in the owners backyard. This was rough for our family of 4 as everyone constantly woke everyone else up. The sleeper sofa was very noisy so anytime our kids moved we all woke up. There was also a light on the ceiling that kept lighting up the room all night. But the place was very clean and overall would recommend for anyone not traveling with children.

Great neighborhood
We stayed here for a short getaway- great, family friendly neighborhood. Multiple pools and parks within walking distance, and beaches within a 20 min drive. Pictures don’t do it justice- it was very inviting, clean and updated! Would love to stay again in the future!

Pros and Cons of This Property
Some things were very nice about this property, and some things were not so great about this property. We have decided to do a Pro and a Con review of this property. Pros: It's very close to Credit One Stadium. It's in a beautiful neighborhood. Finding street parking was fairly easy. We were able to change the thermostat ourselves. It has a washer and dryer. Cons: This is essentially a studio/garage apartment with very steep stairs. There is a very squeaky king-size bed that is uncomfortable and very bouncy. This space is way too small for 4 occupants. The sofa bed was very sticky and uncomfortable and it appears to be at least 40 years old. The host was very unresponsive after she had received our final payment. We waited in the Chik-Fil-A parking lot for 2 hours waiting for the host to respond to numerous text messages and voicemails to give us the address to the garage apartment. She never responded. I had to wait on-hold for an hour to get VRBO to contact the host so that we could receive the address to our rental property. There is no privacy in this property unless all blinds are closed. There are numerous children running around in the main house that is about 4 feet away from the main houses's back deck. There was a microwave, but the owner couldn't tell us how to use it. There was only one drinking glass in the kitchenette. There is no space to sit and eat a meal. There are two benchs but not a bar table. The shower was slippery and there wasn't a soap bar.

It was our first visit to Charleston, we enjoyed the quiet and laid-back vibe of Daniel Island. The property was nice, could have used a place to hang up clothes but otherwise no complaints.

Nice place in a great neighborhood
Lovely place in a neighborhood of (literally) million-dollar homes. Please note that this is essentially a studio apartment that's over the house's detached garage behind the main house (be aware that you have to climb stairs). The only way to get to the apartment is through the side yard of the main house, so if it's been raining, it's a bit of a slog (even with the stones you can step on). Great place for 2 adults or if you have a young child, but I wouldn't have 2 sets of adults staying there due to the size. New appliances and very nice place overall.

Relax in style
This is a very comfortable and well equipped studio. The perfect size for two of us. It is conveniently located in a beautiful neighborhood. It was the perfect place to “come home to” after busy days of sightseeing.
