Fun accommodations with challenges
Publié le 28 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe received a call from someone other then I think the owner. The listing said we would be greeted at checkin if it was before 9pm to go over the use of the boat. This would have been super helpful to navigate a number of issues with the property. We arrived around 7 and was only given directions to the boat. It took a day to find the actual FOB for the parking gate as it was not in the tray with the other key like items. Which we never figured out what they were for. The second bathroom faucet did not work. Faucet handle in working bathroom comes off. Never was able to use the TV's. Many of the lights did not work. Texted several questions for assistance and only half were replied. Refrigerator did not get cold enough until the last day. Had to keep creamer for coffee in freezer. Overall a fun place but in desperate need of some repairs. I did see many people had noted the same issues, it is unfortunate they have not addressed them.

Great hotel alternative
Publié le 24 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayStayed for four nights with my son on our first trip to Charleston, looking at a potential college. It was great to have two bedrooms and bathrooms, plus common space. The staff was very responsive, flexible, and helpful. I spent one afternoon on the back deck, sipping iced coffee and watching the dolphin pod on the other side of the dock. We also went out with Redfin for a fishing charter, which was excellent, Highly recommend. Would add Gogibop to the list of easily walkable restaurants.

Time to tow to junkyard
Publié le 29 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayI will still attempt to get all of my funds returned. But I will state that RedFin did refund a majority that we paid minus the money that goes to VRBO. The photos listed on their site must be from 20 years ago because they are NOTHING like what you actually see. I was even told after our stay - this was being towed to the yard. Then to boot we lost partial electrical on Friday night for over 17 hours which took out the fridge, tv & many outlets. They did send someone to look at it - to no avail. All of the food we purchased was ruined in the fridge which proved more trouble for myself as I'm on special foods due to a precancerous condition in my stomach. Initially the contact with the management was fine - but as more problems occurred - I seemed to frustrate the management. I'd post pictures ...
The entry door can be next to impossible to open.
About 75% of the light bulbs don't work
The outside is so dirty and looks uncared for
The sand bags and tarp on the bow are less than desirable to look at or look through when you're below.
The interior is dirty
There's openings that shouldn't be visible as there are obviously panels missing.
The master bath shower handle shouldn't come off.
The master bath sink faucet sprays everywhere.
The canopies enclosures are all broken and visually an eye sore.
The wet bar is useless.
The fridge and freezer is disgusting
The shower curtain is moldy and dirty
There's hair everywhere
There are broken shades in the Master bath

First, I want to acknowledge that the boat was not ready for check-in. There was some confusion about our calendar, and we recognized that the boat was not prepared and was in disarray with sandbags still in place from the tropical storm prep. We immediately offered the guest a 100% refund and even arranged to move her to a five-star hotel, but she chose to stay on the boat and accepted the refund.
During her stay, Charleston experienced several storms, which caused a partial power outage on the Marina side of the boat. Although the guest still had power and air conditioning, some outlets, including those for the refrigerator, were not functioning. When she notified us the next morning, we offered to replace everything she lost by going grocery shopping on her behalf. However, she declined to provide a list or communicate with us over the phone.
After the guest checked out, we had the entire boat detailed inside and out and addressed every issue she mentioned. I'm grateful that she provided a list of the problems, allowing us to resolve them for the next guest, who gave us a five-star review.
However, I'm disappointed that despite offering solutions, the guest refused to speak with us directly, opting to communicate only via text. If there was any frustration coming from management, It was because the guest refused to talk to us and everything had to be through text which can sometime be hard to convey tone or emotion. To this day, we have not spoken to Gina, as she won't return our calls. We gave her a full refund, and she still chose to stay on the boat instead of moving to the Charleston Place hotel, which costs $700 per night, at no charge to her. She said it would be too much and a
Refund would be fine.
I feel we did everything possible given the circumstances to make her happy, yet despite receiving a full refund, she left us a one-star review.

Unique get away
Publié le 22 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe boat was nice but older so it needs a bit of updating. We really enjoyed the peaceful location and the view was amazing from the boat. At least half of the lights inside the boat did not work so it was very dark and difficult to see in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and over the dining area. Also, the Keurig had water left in it and it was growing green algae. The fridge needs to be replaced - bought some milk but it never cooled and the milk spoiled. Also, the description needs to warn you that this boat is a very long walk from where your car is parked, we had heat exhaustion pulling our load of luggage and supplies in the cart provided. Publix is a 2 block drive away so that was convenient. This would be a great getaway if the boat was better maintained, however we really enjoyed our trip and I think with some much needed maintenance you could book this property all summer.

Phenomenal View
Publié le 3 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayFirst off the view is amazing, they pulled the boat to the end of the dock so we had unobstructed views of the nightly sunset, frequent dolphin sightings and even one shark sighting. The staff of Redfin Charters are also topnotch, very attentive to your needs and willing to assist at all times. Now, for the boat, classified as a luxury yacht, which i do not believe it is. The bost is old and had multiple isses, for example: the vinyl on the upper deck could be cleaned of stains, no working power on the outside besides lighting, outside sink broken, lights in main cabin were out, door to second bathroom broken, no running water in second bathroom, carpet floor always felt damp, air conditioner went out while there and had to repeatedly flip switch in breaker box. They did address that issue immediately but basically had to divert power throughout boat to keep air working, thus leaving us with one working outlet...ended up with coffee maker in the bedroom. With all that being said, I would stay there again if they assured me that aĺl the issues have been fixed, that is how much we loved the view and appreciated their professionalism.

Nice change of pace...
Publié le 3 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a great stay on the Dolce Vita. Would definitely choose this over a hotel for any future visits. Plenty of room for a family of 4. Beautiful views/sunsets and a good location. Watched a pod of dolphins swimming around the yachts which was a bonus to the stay. And Tanner, with Red Fin Charters, was a great host. Thanks!

Fun Getaway
Publié le 4 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was a fun getaway. Short was great and the boat was clean. It is an older boat and not in perfect shape, but for the price, it was perfect! The location was beautiful and conveniently located within walking distance of Publix. It was a quick car ride to the Charleston Market. I would definitely do this trip again.
