Room had a cigarette smoke odor and couch was covered in dog hair. Overall the room didn’t feel clean. TV remote had no batteries, we checked with the front desk and they didn’t have any spares. Honestly would be better off spending the extra few bucks for a nicer hotel down the road.

Thank you for the review. We apologize that we didn't offer a great stay especially with dealing with Hurricane Helene earlier in the day. We did our best to navigate not having power for the entire day. We invite you back to our property so you can see what a real WaterWalk stay is and not have to deal with the after affects of a major hurricane.

There was limited staff. No one available to service room when checked in. Items broken in room no one available to look at them. No soap or shampoo in dispensers during check in and no one available to service room. Garbage can out side hotel flowing over on ground during entire stay.

Poor services and dirty!

The rooms were pretty nice and were clean, however they didn’t have any wash cloths in the rooms. There were only two pillows per bed that were very flat and they had no extras to get. The trash cans on the property were overflowing and the floors in all of the public areas were dirty. There was poop in the floors in the hallway and when we called to inform the desk they said they know and were going to get it cleaned, it was still there 4 hours later. The desk never answered their phones and were never behind the desk when you walked down, you’d have to wait 10-15 minutes for service every time you needed anything including checking in. This was a nice hotel potentially, but it was ruined by lack of services and terrible housekeeping.

We did our best with the crew that we had as we dealt with Hurricane Helene and numerous team members were dealing with no power at their homes. Now that we have gotten to the other side of the storm we have cleaned up the building and the grounds and are ready to welcome our guests moving forward especially those that were effected more directly from Hurricane Helene.

Birthday Weekend Staycation Gone Wrong

It took an hour to check in bc one person Nicki was working, she had to service my room before I was given it. I did precheck in and was check 2xs for incidentals ($100 each) by mistake. There were no wash cloths or enough pillow cases on the bed. I had to wash my sheets, comforter and mattress cover due to debri and hair. I cleaned the entire space. When Helene came and knocked out power, I called and asked Savannah (she's kind) if a precedure is in place for these emergencies. There was none. Parking is ok. A lot of youth were on property smoking weed. Weed smell in halls. Domestic issues (heard through walls and lobby) i didnt feel 100% safe as a single woman staying. Someone tried selling me weed and jewelry. The outlets stopped working in kitchen after outage causing my food to spoil even after managing to save it during outage. I had to plug in the fridge in the sitting area.What they lack in workers and cleaning services is made up with kind staff who is very understanding but clearly overworked. Someones car was hit while parked. Only one main entrance and always a wait for residents and short stay guests. No security. Near shops and food (S. TRYON or Arrowood). Although the setup is truly nice for a short stay I would HATE to live here or stay again. I would not recommend for solo traveling women or families. The stains and dirty floor as mentioned in other reviews is correct too. Bring sandals/slides. Site not letting me add photos.

Thank you for the review, we are sorry that we didn't live up to expectations as we navigated Hurricane Helene. We were doing our best to navigate this turbulent storm with even less of a crew than normal. We do hope to be given another opportunity to WOW you when not dealing with a hurricane.

Staff at hotel was very very nice but the hotel felt dirty. It looked like our bedding had not been washed there was hair and stains in the bed. We asked for new bedding and remade the bed. We could not walk in the floor for how greasy/dirty it felt as well as all the countertop surfaces. There is also a dirty and cigarette foul smell to the whole place We just had an overnight stay and this could be ok for an extended stay if you were to bring your own cleaning supplies as the rooms are spacious with full kitchens.
