I would’ve liked to have given you a five star rating, but the house was a mess, The toilet paper holder on the wall was ripped off. On top of that, the permanent filter to the coffee maker had been tossed out with the coffee grounds, and I was forced to replace it and the toilet paper holder.

Excellent stay

UVA softball camp
Publié le 21 août 2024 sur HomeAwayA few of our players flew from AZ to attend a softball camp at UVA. The house was comfortable and located close to campus. The girls got a great nights rest, which is so important when flying across the country! Thank you for a great stay:)

A great experience in all aspects
Publié le 23 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is so comfortable and chic. Without a doubt the most beautiful place I have stayed. It also has a really beautiful view of the nearby mountains.
The 5 of us had to take a group selfie and capture this view to remind us just how nice it was there.
Whatever brings you to Charlottesville, the food, music, shopping, wineries/breweries, antiquing, tours of nearby Monticello, or all of the above as we did, the property is wonderful to return to at the end of the day.

Wedding Trip

Mary Jane was an incredibly responsive host, the place was clean and spacious, and we had more than we could have asked for in the amenities. Would stay here again!

Parking and other items, not so good
Publié le 23 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayFirst of all, the listing photo is inaccurate. You are staying at someone’s home in a myriad of condos. If you have 2 or more cars, do not park on the street or your car will be towed. Owner says, do not park on the curb, so we parked on the street across from the condo. Owner did not state to park in lined, designated spaces down the street. $200 later, we got our car out of the impound.
We were just not happy with having shared refrigerator space (we got 2 shelves) 3 broken counter stools with 2 held together with tape and the other so rickety it was about to fall apart and the parking issue. Also, we paid a cleaning fee, stove and oven were dirty, several dishes were dirty, floor was not mopped and we were asked to strip the beds, put in washer and empty garbage upon our departure, which we would have been happy to do if the place was clean to start with. We paid a fee, and for what?
The good things were that the seating in the living room was generous and comfy, all the appliances worked, sheets and towels were nice.

I’ve been VRBO host for over 10 years. I am a premier host with an exceptional rating. Exceptional.
The house is not a condo. It is a $600,000 townhouse.
Additionally, the housekeeper does an incredible job of cleaning the house. As evidenced by the photos on my listing.
I am sorry you got your car towed. However, I stated very clearly to you, as I do to all my guests that there is a strict towing policy. Do not park on the curb or street or it would get towed. I have no control over this. I also stated very clearly to only park in designated parking spots. You chose to ignore my instructions and your car was towed.
I had the maintenance man check the stools. Two of them had loose screws. They have since been tightened.
VRBO hosts work very hard to make things comfortable for their guests. As evidence by my 40 positive reviews. In fact, the only two negative reviews I’ve received have been you and the previous guests who also chose to ignore the parking policy and had their car towed.
I am a very conscientious host and it is unfair of you to post a negative review because of your mistake.

Very nice but some strange things

The strange part was, there was food in the fridge, prescription medicine in the cabinet. Clothes in all the closets and family photos throughout the house. It was like the owner just left for the weekend.

I’m glad you enjoyed the place. Yes, like many people on VRBO and Airbnb, I rent my home out when I’m not using it. I’m not sure why this comes as surprise to you? Perhaps you’ve never used VRBO or Airbnb before. As you noted in the pictures, the house is perfectly maintained and clean. I have a professional housekeeper that sees to this. There ARE empty drawers in the bedroom dressers upstairs and 2 empty closets for guests to use.
I’m also sorry that you were upset because your car got towed. I did specifically tell you that if you brought an extra vehicle that it could only be parked in designated parking spaces within the neighborhood. You chose to park illegally on the street curb anyway and the car was towed.

Charlottesville stay
Publié le 28 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property was very well maintained, nicely decorated and highly functional. We found everything we needed with no delays. Everyone was comfortable and there were six of us.
The location was not as centrally located as we’d hoped it would be. It was lovely, it just definitely required a drive to get to downtown Charlottesville.
The host was very helpful and responsive. Overall a very good stay.
