Historically renovated and completed in 2013, this 1 BR, 2 BA 3rd floor walk-up apartment represents what locals love- history and the Downtown Mall. With its original heart pine floors, this apartment boast quality and craftsmanship with features like two decorative fireplaces, granite counters, 7 ft tall windows overlooking the Mall, and 9 ft ceilings. The one bedroom apartment is perfect as a pied-à-terre, and is just blocks away from four theaters featuring live performances in dance, theater, and live music. The location can't be beat in the middle of the downtown action!  We like to note to future guests that this is a popular area (especially on the weekends) and the noise level on the Downtown Mall may be higher particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings.

My wife and I visited Charlottesville to attend the Virginia Film Festival and the location of the Old Met was ideal. Located half a block from the Paramount theater, the Old Met offered a quick stop between shows for a rest, snack, or nap. Awesome!

Nice apartment. Comfortable. Beautiful light. Has a piano for any musician out of town which is why we selected it. The Charlottesville downtown mall is vibrant with shops and restaurants which would make it a great location with the exception of the number of homeless who congregate there. Too much noise and little to no police involvement to keep things quiet after 10 pm. Many unhealthy homeless people sleeping in the mall and in vestibules. It’s reality but not something you want to deal with on your vacation.

Urbanites for the nights
We enjoyed this apartment in the heart of downtown Charlottesville. The apartment building was warm and had charming, old architectural details. The rooms were quite spacious, and the abundance of natural sunlight from the large windows was inviting. The piano added a fun touch. We were initially concerned about parking, but it was close, and we could actually see our car from a window in the unit. It was so convenient to walk to some great bars and restaurants. The surrounding area definitely has a city feel but felt safe enough. It made for some good people watching. During the day we strolled into the local shops. We visited the nearby Trump winery which had beautiful views of the rolling countryside. We had a short drive to a concert at the John Paul Jones arena. Overall we had a fantastic weekend and would recommend this special accommodation for your visit, especially if you want to be close to a lively area of Charlottesville.

The Old Met was a beautiful old place in downtown C'Ville... having lived in town years ago it brought back many memories with the charming creaky floors, high ceilings, and period architectural detailing. It was a little tricky finding the place the 1st time, and even though the Mall was active at night, the bedroom was nice and quiet, and very comfy. I'd definitely stay there again!

Cute apartment, great location.
This is a very comfortable apartment in a great location. As others have noted there's a lot of street noise at night, but all you need to do is switch on the vent fan above the oven and it's enough white noise to sleep soundly.

The apartment itself was fine. And I’m sure for many people the area would be fine. It just wasn’t for us. First, the parking is horrendous. We were given access to a parking lot that was open to the public for the downtown mall so finding a spot to park to go to our rental was nearly impossible. And the noise level is terrible. And not just the downtown area but all night long. We heard yelling/fighting all night from the park behind our apartment. We actually left a day early.

Property was exactly as listed and we enjoyed everything about our stay. Only thing would be suggesting to change out shower curtain in master bath. Had read about mold on it in previous review and was surprised it was still there. Only reason for 4 star for cleanliness. This is definitely the place to stay to truly experience Cville and everything it has to offer. Would absolutely stay here again!

Amazing location!
Had a great time at the downtown location for the holidays! Gorgeous view and interior is well appointed. Parking is just behind the building, just leave the email pass on the dash and no worries. Comfy furniture, and 2 full bathrooms which was really useful. It’s an older property so there are squeaky floors, just comes with the territory. Basic surfaces were clean, but there was some gunk on the faucet, dust under the bed, and some more intense cleaning between stays is necessary. Sort of par for the course issues, but should be addressed. Especially since we cooked a lot and needed a clean kitchen to feel comfortable. Great price considering the location, you’ll save on downtown parking since it’s included. The management company is super responsive! Which is refreshing. You can tell they take pride in their place and providing a nice experience
