Interesting historic home!
Publié le 20 juill. 2022 sur HomeAwayThis house is certainly unique. The stained glass and original woodwork is beautiful. While it is easy to appreciate the historic significance of the home, it is not a comfortable place to stay. The beds are horrible. Cheap, crunchy mattresses. Pillows and bedding are awful. The towels are old, stained, and smelly. The kitchen and bathroom were dirty like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in years. The washing machine is broken but that is not disclosed. I put a load on to wash and spent 2 days trying to get it to wash and rinse and spin so that my clothes weren’t sopping wet to pack to go home. One morning we were woken at 6am to 2 homeless people fighting in the backyard!! Like not in the alley, but 8 feet from the open window. There is zero outdoor space to enjoy. The parking situation in the back is very tight for anything larger than a smart car.
The only bonus to this house is the proximity to downtown and all the great restaurants and bars within walking distance. If you want to be where the action is and don’t care about comfort, then this is the place for you!!

Hello Kirsten, we agree that this apartment is a downtown apartment. The absence of a large backyard is obvious. There is space for four regular cars or two cars per guest. The parking space is exacly 61 square meters. A smart car has a footprint of 3.5 square meters. The washing machine was checked and it works. Had you told us you were having trouble, we would have come right away and shown you how it works, but you didn't. We buy new towels every year and a fresh set is provided for every new guest. It is entirely possible that a stain on a towel could have been undetected. I that case you could have put it aside and called us for fresh towels, but you didn't. The mattress selection is always an issue: For some, it is too firm, for others too soft. We, therefore, buy semi-firm ones. Our bookkeeper will disagree with your statement they are cheap. As for the homeless, we are truly sorry about that and we have alerted City Hall.

Amazing location

Great place to stay in Charlottetown
Publié le 27 sept. 2019 sur HomeAwayDon't let the exterior of this place keep you away. The apartment is huge with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, all the kitchen appliances. Plus, the neighborhood is great and it is within walking distance of everything you want to see in Charlottetown. It is also immaculately clean! We had a great stay!

Overall an excellent location. Close by for shopping and many restaurants.

Nice old house close to the waterfront
Publié le 26 juill. 2017 sur HomeAwayThis 100 year old house was a very spacious stay for our family of 4 touring the maritimes. We stayed 4 nights and the location was great for walking downtown Charlottetown and the waterfront. The place was clean, the owner was very responsive and there was a lot of character in this antique place.
My only surprise was that it was next to a laundry place and I think some upstairs bar which added some unexpected noise from folks on the street...but you are downtown so I suppose that's expected. We're not used to hearing after bar crowds and that was our only complaint.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great Location in Downtown Charlottetown

It is within 5-15 minutes walking distance of theatres, restaurants, coffee shops, historical sites, the harbor, and the Victoria Park boardwalk. The area is quiet and we felt safe walking in the neighborhood in the evening. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, and attractive. It will especially appeal to those who love the charm of older homes. The kitchen is well equipped with cookware and utensils.
