The municipality prides itself on its culture and picturesque setting. The town's art galleries, cafes and shops give it an incomparable charm that will fix itself in your memory.
Meech Lake is steeped in a rich history that is part of Canadian heritage. Located in the heart of the Gatineau Park and designed by renowned architect Hank Klosterman, the house is the embodiment of rustic elegance. You are immediately struck by the views from every window. The house is directly on the lake, facing the hills of the Gatineau Park.
The owner spent summers on lakes and rivers and there is a rich history of boat and canoe building in his family. This love of natural elements was the inspiration for creating Meech Lake Lodge. The beauty of wood, copper and iron combined with hand-crafted lighting envelop you in a serenity and connection with nature rarely found in modern homes.
The reclaimed material used for the interior walls inside Meech Lake Lodge mostly consist of Mushroom wood, barn board, Hand Hewn Jacket Board and Threshing floor from Atmosphere et Bois in Manotick.
